Just got a planner for 2026. Somebody didn't yet get the news about Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia.

Yugoslavia continued to exist after that with reduced territory (today's Serbia and Montenegro). I have childhood memories of the existence of Yugoslavia, but not of Czechoslovakia.

Yugoslavia was such a mess for such a long time, it was on maps LONG after it split up, but with dotted lines for borders.

Also, I'm from Czechoslovakia!

Or Zaire

We still have 9.5 months left of 2026, maybe they'll get back together by the end of the year.

That place that sells the planner probably sells globes with the USSR on it. Maps of Mesopotamia? Constantinople baked cookies. City of Atlantis Chamber of Commerce merch as well!

A time traveler's truck stop!

Hope I can find a good supplier of copper in that planner

Honestly, putting up a map of Mesopotamia as an art piece would be cool and I'm tempted

I was born in Czechoslovakia, and I have a small collection of stuff that lists the country after it stopped existing.

For example, I have a helmet that was "Made in Czechoslovia" in 1998, 6 years after it stopped existing. I'd love to buy one of these

So the last update was between 1989 and 1992

Now in one piece!

Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 159d

I understood that reference!

butwhyishischinabook@piefed.social · 3 pts · 159d

Or the news about Zaire lol

Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 159d

Don't bother them, the more they catch up with things the more depressed they're going to be.

schnurrito@discuss.tchncs.de · 5 pts · 159d (1 reply)

It's not anymore tho, they switched to the euro a few months ago. 😜

daychilde@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 159d

Individual_Orchid@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 158d (1 reply)

What pen is that? How is it to write with?

user224@lemmy.sdf.org · 1 pts · 158d

Just random cheap one - Schneider Ceod.
Writes smoothly, but I don't have experience with other pens.
Other than that I just have Stabilo beFab, but I think document ink has done some damage to it now.

It's not 1990 any more, you could update your workflow a tad

It’s 2026 - Paper is great for hiding your resistance meetings plans from Skynet.

Just use your PDA and don't connect it to your PC's serial port
