To each their own but I find that sheet of pasta off-putting and can't understand the side of french fries with it... maybe I have been watching too many Master Chef episodes lately

Yeah they need to get rid of the dish and serve it in a brick or a slate. They they can charge more for it to.

French delicacies are not to be served in such pedestrian manner!

Franchement!!!

MadMadBunny@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 172d

You gotta try it once. When prepared skillfully, it is an absolute delight.

lazi ravioli

you_are_dust@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 172d (7 replies)

What is this actually? Is this prepared incorrectly or is this a pasta dish I've never seen?

tempest@lemmy.ca · 19 pts · 172d (6 replies)

It's 'French style' ravioli or Ravioles Du Dauphiné

It's just trendy not to cut up the sheet at the moment.

I_Fart_Glitter@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 172d (4 replies)

In my experience when you order normal ravioli you get like 5 at the most. So even with some self check out style labor at the table, this seems worth it.

tempest@lemmy.ca · 7 pts · 172d (1 reply)

Yeah but they are "big" ravioli, these guys are tiny ones. They are like a third of the size. If you spread out your 5 ravioli like they were in a sheet it would be pretty close.

That said 5 ravioli is likely a serving of pasta but as you do, I feel like it's not enough.

I think maybe pasta portions are a bit out of control but it's also why I don't get Italian food very often because a lot of it is mediocre and I don't want to pay 40 bucks for 5 ravioli.

This is exactly why I only ate pierogis once during my erasmus semester in Poland. Compared to other dishes, we could call it a scam

MadMadBunny@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 172d (1 reply)

Not the same plate at all as ravioli.

Ravioles du Dauphiné

captainlezbian@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 172d

Ok but that does look really good even if my yank ass wants to slather it in an Italian style sauce. Actually, nah, that needs dunked in a bechamel with some lemon and a complimentary cheese or a french style tomato sauce. Maybe serve with a ramekin of each

edinbruh@feddit.it · 3 pts · 172d

Of course. Only the French could do something like that. Hon hon hon baguette

Birth controllini*

How'd both the person in the image and OP here get that wrong?

pastermil@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 171d

That would be the mini version of this.

TimboSlice@discuss.online · 8 pts · 172d

Why would they not cut the ravioli?

It’s inconvenient to have my period all in one week, so I like to skip every weekend instead of seven days in a row.

Actual comment I heard from the luckiest idiot in the world.
