The missile didn't just land there, Israel shot it at him. Stop using passive voice to describe Israeli war crimes.

I agree, this is not my title, but the title from BBC.

yeah they do this shit all the time and I am just so sick of it. sorry, i didn't mean to make that seem directed at you.

BigBenis@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 158d

And risk upsetting Israel? That'll get you arrested on a good day, missiles shot at you on a bad one.

Bloomcole@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 158d

It's the BBC mouthpiece.

Over 6,000,000 Jews were placed into protective custody during world war 2.

That's an "interesting" way to frame the holocaust, I guess, but I'm struggling to understand the relevancy?

Yeah, now that I've thought about it, you're probably right. I guess my hackles just get raised when people start talking about "jews" when you criticize Israel.

davepleasebehave@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 152d

yes. Sorry for any confusion.

Israel tried to kill a journalist. Say it how it is bbc.

Amazing. There's a single frame in which you can actually see the missile just above the road. He was incredibly lucky.

bampop@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 158d (2 replies)

Looks like it went into the pre-existing hole. Incredibly lucky indeed

sanguinepar@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 157d (1 reply)

Wow, I think you're right, I hadn't even thought of that. Probably saved his life. Blimey.

bampop@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 157d

Next frame... multiple missiles, the closest goes in the hole and hits the near side, so all the blast is deflected up and away. These guys should buy themselves a lottery ticket

brownsugga@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 158d

Fuckin hell- he just made it, what luck- he cashed in 8 of his 9 lives there

blechlawine@feddit.org · 7 pts · 158d

Missile lands

I'm sure the missile landed gracefully, BBC...

Can't disagree in principle but someone should explain why everyone has this fixation on X?

rapchee@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 157d (4 replies)

fixation in what way? using it? or avoiding it?

Bloomcole@lemmy.world · -4 pts · 157d (3 replies)

avoiding it OC.
Plenty of horrible media out there.
I don't dislike it more than the so-called respectable ones who use sneaky ltactics and language to mask they are regime mouthpieces.
NYT, WaPo, BBC you name it.
And the news agencies like Reuters, AP just as well.

Sounds like some performative US lib shit.

which one's owner was recorded doing a "roman salute" publicly?
musk is a step (or two) worse than those who at least pretend to be okay

Bloomcole@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 157d (1 reply)

As I said, the others are simply more sneaky.
At least he's open about being a scumbag.

But watch this 30-second Zootopia 2 ad first because ooh shiny!

Putting a capitalistic ad in front of a humanitarian/civil rights video should be a felony.
