They asked copilot to slop an update for them and it tried to kill itself. Tragic, really.

thesohoriots@lemmy.world · 28 pts · 141d

Only took it a sloppy second

lol Microslop gonna Microslop

Prox@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 141d

Microsoft: It isn't fair to call us that!.
Also Microsoft: breaks everything immediately after

Tollana1234567@lemmy.today · 6 pts · 141d

microslop is self-destructing.

panda_abyss@lemmy.ca · 75 pts · 141d (1 reply)

Finally, Microsoft improves Windows.

fuck_u_spez_in_particular@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 139d

Don't wanna be that guy, but: You misspelled Microslop.

gwl@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 43 pts · 141d

Ooh nice, a good update from Microsoft for once

maplesaga@lemmy.world · 37 pts · 141d (3 replies)

I've got 3 pieces of software broken right now from large corporations, Rubrik being one of them. A 10 billion dollar corporation and its broken specifically with HyperV, and all they can say is theyre working with Microsoft to fix it, meanwhile our backups dont work.

I think this is the tip of the iceberg, this shit is far reaching, Microsoft is doing such a terrible job with Windows that I think the entire tech industry is being affected. I fear the fact so much critical infrastructure resides in Azure, I've seen bugs in Azure that make absolutely no sense, while Intune is still missing basic functionality.

We need an exodus, I feel so much concentration around Microslop can bring modern civilizations to its knees with one cyber event.

Viper_NZ@lemmy.nz · 10 pts · 141d

To be fair to Rubrik, I’m not sure Microsoft realise they still sell Hyper-V.

Their KB articles fail to mention recent versions, they’ve removed all training courses and certifications on it and their support teams? I’m not sure they could spell it.

Anyway, so we’re moving from VMware to Hyper-V to ditch Broadcom… FML.

redsand@infosec.pub · 2 pts · 140d

The realistic CBI on windows and open source has changed dramatically in a few months. If your backend is Microslop or Oracle dependent I pitty you.

LincolnsDogFido@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 141d

Doesn't Azure run on Linux?

shininghero@pawb.social · 30 pts · 141d

Sounds like an improvement to me.

TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 27 pts · 141d (2 replies)

Can I get KB5079473 and keep it? I prefer those free apps which are pushed down your throat to have no internet access. As I don't have rights to remove at least Edge without completely removing Windows.

Stiggyman@ani.social · 8 pts · 140d (1 reply)

It's not a good clean way but if you get all your files off the system and reformat installing version N (intended for EU) then you get much less bloat and tracking by default and you also are allowed to kill edge,

TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 140d

Thanks, whish you came with that advice when MS force installed 11.

Now I feel it's not worth the hassle, as the next time I'm going to reinstall my OS it's going to be Linux instead.

Microslop: KB5079473 slops internet access to Winslop 11 Slops, Edge, OneSlop, Slopilot

HuudaHarkiten@piefed.social · 25 pts · 141d

Microslop, one stop slop shop.

the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world · 21 pts · 140d

So theres no downside?

Pyr_Pressure@lemmy.ca · 20 pts · 140d

I literally feel this as more of a feature than a bug.

Can we please keep it?

j0ester@lemmy.world · 18 pts · 140d

What a nice feature.

pHr34kY@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 141d

Don't threaten me with a good time.

brap@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 141d

That’s pretty handy, if I still ran Windows I wouldn’t want any of that shit to have internet access.

smeg@infosec.pub · 15 pts · 141d

Nothing of value was lost.

iopq@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 139d

Okay, but there has to be a downside, surely?

morto@piefed.social · 12 pts · 141d

We're 0 days since last windows update broke functionality

yggstyle@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 141d

And nothing of value was lost.

Finally the Clanker coded did something good?

go watch star wars :)

XLE@piefed.social · 8 pts · 141d

Remove all four of these components: fix the bug, and make the users happier.

billwashere@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 139d

AI coded slop as a patch?

TwinTitans@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 140d

Still shocked anyone uses this company’s products anymore.

tidderuuf@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 141d

Hey I might actually be able to get out of work for once and I can thank Microslop for that update.

"Sorry boss, I updated and can't do any work. Sure hope this message reaches you through Teams!"

RIotingPacifist@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 141d

It's a feature not a bug!

Lanske@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 139d (4 replies)

Don't they test before release?! Or is that AI's job now?! What a couple of fucktards

Baggie@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 139d

Aha no they actually stopped that about a decade ago iirc? It was a fairly noticeable shift, I was working in a small development environment at the time.

Goferking0@ttrpg.network · 4 pts · 139d (2 replies)

Hasn't MS been proud to not have QA anymore? Since mid 2010s

Lanske@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 139d (1 reply)

Could be, but they shouldn't be 😄

Goferking0@ttrpg.network · 2 pts · 139d

https://blog.pragmaticengineer.com/how-microsoft-does-qa/

we wanted to move faster so just removed QA and let the coders do their own testing...

muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 139d

My company is moving from Citrix thin clients to miniPCs with windows 11 and cramming AI into everything. Nothing works. I’m expecting some seriously profitable downtime.

bridgeburner@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 139d

Microslop is a corporation that turns...

Tarambor@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 140d (1 reply)

Running MicroWin de-bloated Windows 11 and also in Europe so Edge is uninstallable I am completely unaffected by this.

CeeBee_Eh@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 139d

I'm running Linux, so I'm also completely unaffected by this.
