It's all fun and gig until you remember that there was enough of these illiterate nut jobs in the US to elect Trump. TWICE!

Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world · 61 pts · 162d (4 replies)

Once.

I still maintain the 2024 election was rigged. Not because I'm a sore loser, but because before the election trump was bragging that they rigged the election.

brown567@sh.itjust.works · 9 pts · 161d

And after the election!

a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 160d (2 replies)

I mean, you're not wrong. Musk paid some actors a million dollars to perpetuate a fantasy that your average person could get rich by voting for Trump. It was also recently revealed that he f***** with the Georgia elections illegally. God knows what actually happened.

But the sad truth is still that lots of Americans wanted this s*** and still do. We're hurting the right people and haven't hurt them enough.

Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 160d (1 reply)

We’re hurting the right people and haven’t hurt them enough.

Uhhhhh.......you wanna clarify that last part?

a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 160d

Sorry, the idiots in my country want to hurt just about any minority they can. As long as the GOP is putting more pain on the "others" than Trump's voting base they will likely keep supporting him.

At this point people are supporting his hate more than anything else.

db2@lemmy.world · 27 pts · 162d (2 replies)

Doubt that's actually true. Remember how every accusation is a confession with them, they've been accusing others of rigging elections. I seriously doubt that is the single exception.

alekwithak@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 162d (1 reply)

Every confession is a confession too, and they've come out and said it multiple times.

db2@lemmy.world · 25 pts · 162d

Yeah I'll never understand that one. He literally said the popular votes don't matter and he has all he needs. That's a pretty fucking blatant confession and nobody did anything at all about it.

"To hell with the Alamo" doesn't read as a Trump supporter statement to me.

nexguy@lemmy.world · 18 pts · 162d

I agree.

But "To hell with the Alimo" does.

I have coded in Perl. I prefer to forget.

bus_factor@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 162d (2 replies)

I kind of miss Perl, and still write it sometimes. More often than not I end up with python, though, due to the built-in json parser. Everything is json or yaml these days.

nymnympseudonym@piefed.social · 5 pts · 162d (1 reply)

I still use perl every day. It's more portable than Java, faster than Python (both to write and execution speed), and makes hard things easy.

SlurpingPus@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 161d

As an avid scripter, I do hate it a bit that Perl is indeed the most viable environment for scripts that run fast and work in most Linux distros and in MacOS.

But I will prefer Lua anyway.

Why only blurr the license plate in one of the images…?

ickplant@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 162d

Different sources, I just posted them without any additional blurring.

Eh... You mean that a license plate is not personally identifying in Europe or that the post violates privacy laws in Europe?
