Former Overwatch lead Jeff Kaplan says he wants to put "Rust-like mechanics" in his new survival game "someday," but for now base-building is more like "Valheim and Subnautica"

The building is more focused on utility, progression, aesthetics, and customization, rather than defending your stuff

Listening to him glaze tim sweeney for all the "good he's trying to do" as well as talk about "ideally this would be on battle net because it's the best service" in the long playtest video stream they did was enough for me to nope out on this game. :/

I wonder if they're really huffing the shit they're spewing? How much are they getting paid?

I misread the title and thought the game's name was "someday".

It seems like the actual game title is "The Legend of California", which is admittedly not as cool as "someday".

Got to agree, while not being very descriptive, "Someday" really stands out from typical game names, you almost instinctively want to find out what it's about and what's going to happen someday.

Oh thanks for that info. I also thought games title would be "someday", especially as it is put in quotes.

Hi It's Jeff From The Overwatch Team

I still say this when I play Jeff the Landshark in Marvel Rivals.

I always thought Blizzard could make a kickass survival game. The genre really needs a polished, accessible game to tie players together.

Very low expectations for this, though. Maybe Jeff really is a fantastic designer and won't shit out garbage like so many others who left their companies such as Inafune and CliffyB.

Highguard also put rust mechanics into their game. I wonder how that game is doing.
