I had a coworker who would easily pass as a teenager even though she was in her early ~30's, so yeah, I could see why the doctor might have assumed that. Some people just carry that young look.
Its been awhile since I've read the story but as I recall, the first two pigs built their houses poorly because they were being lazy and didn't see the need.
The story morale is more or less that bad things can just come along and wreck your day, so you shouldn't laze about when things are good, but should prepare yourself for future hardships.
I couldn't talk anyone into Matrix (Or Stoat or any of the others) but I somehow managed to get a Steam group chat sort of rolling instead of Discord, as most of the groups I played with had Steam accounts anyways so it was easy to jump on.
I have a very reclusive race who basically get into (usually) tedious and time consuming hobbies to occupy their time. In the event they do try to bond with someone else, they'll invite someone over and not really engage with them and continue to do whatever their hobby is.
Other members of this same race are observant and learn much about the other by what their hobby of choice is, how they do it, how meticulous they are about it, etc. This is usually deeply personal and specific to them so its a big bonding step, whereas other races usually get somewhat confused on what's going on and try to socialize instead (which interrupts the bonding process).
I had a dead-set career path (game design) and even went to college with this path in mind. When it all came together and I finally had the opportunity to do it, I made a sudden decision against it.
Ended up being the right choice, but I don't think my younger self would believe it.
Also flashlights in games: Has 5 minutes of battery power, flickers for some reason if something spooky is nearby, cannot be duct taped to the shotgun under any circumstances.
I think you'd see more bikes. A lot less upkeep than a horse, you can find them relatively easy, and they can sit in a garage for months or years and only need some minor maintenance to get going again.
Edit: I can't think of any books I've read recently that depicts primarily bike based transportation though. Probably because it doesn't look super cool lol
Like narrating actions ("I'm buying these cookies") or carrying on conversations with themselves, or 'thinking out loud' ("I wonder if it will rain today?") kind of stuff?
(Assuming you're in the US) Back in the day, banks used to have them, you could just walk in and exchange currency without a fee.

My guess is there are holes on the other side not visible to the camera, as its probably only one piece of a large set of furniture.
Maybe part of an old style cradle, like a vintage Jenny Lind style one.

Yeah a few others have mentioned that too. It definitely seems like a thing they do sometimes, though not in any areas around where I am.

Yeah its AI. You got disappearing branches and very small eagles. Not to mention like hundreds hanging out on a beach together.
