Little Jedi is on board.

There's only one little jedi, and it's on board.

Every time someone uses an apostrophe to make a word plural, a kitten dies. Please donate the price of a cup of coffee and save a kitten.

Maybe there's just 1 and it's a contraction:

Little [jedi is] on board

tiredofsametab@fedia.io · 2 pts · 159d

Little Jedi was on board. RIP.

iltoroargento@lemmy.sdf.org · 25 pts · 159d (16 replies)

Jedi is already plural...

SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 159d (5 replies)

OK? That's the possessive form. Or maybe a contraction for "Jedi is."

Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 159d (4 replies)

I read it as "Little Jedi is on board".

And there's nothing wrong with that sentence. I mean, apart from having children. Last thing this world needs is MORE humans....

Is the singular also Jedi, or is there a lesser known Jedo, Jedus or Jedum knocking around that we should be using?

iltoroargento@lemmy.sdf.org · 6 pts · 158d (2 replies)

It's one of those wonderful words which is both singular and plural at the same time:)

fakeman_pretendname@feddit.uk · 3 pts · 158d (1 reply)

Ah well, it's a shame, I was looking forward to pedantically correcting people with "Actually, Jedi is plural - so technically speaking, Luke Skywalker is a Jedus".

Jedi is the Lego of space opera. Although, I am lead to believe that Lego becomes Logolas when you introduce Hobbits.

corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca · 0 pts · 159d (5 replies)

Jedi is already plural…

It's a mass or uncountable noun; like happy or e-mail. People who write 'jedis' are as embarrassing as people who write 'emails'.

Beacon@fedia.io · 6 pts · 159d (4 replies)

Emails is correct usage in many instances

GraniteM@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 158d (2 replies)

Is email / emails like fish / fishes or grass / grasses?

fireweed@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 158d

The spaces around the slashes prompted me to read your comment like surreal poetry:

is email

emails like fish

fishes or grass

grasses?

Beacon@fedia.io · 1 pts · 158d

I don't think so, i think OP os totally wrong, the word "emails" is valid in all cases of multiple emails.

There is also concern about the missing hyphen. You wouldn't want to confuse e-mail with email.

if I ever have kids, I'd want my car to have a sticker that says "Little sith lords on board"
