it only got big in the rest of the world after we'd been tortured to death by it here since 1997 so i don't know if i really see it that way. i mean, it is 29 years old at this point. i've not been able to escape the little fucker for over three fourths of my life.
There's a family that lives a block away from me that throws backyard parties a lot. We can tell when it's a kids' party because they play Crazy Frog for 15 minutes to get things going. It's hilarious to us.
There is a Finnish Smurfs album with an Axel F cover (labelled as a Crazy Frog cover of course) and if you can tune out the vocals, it's pretty banging.
fun fact kiddos. back in the early 2000s commercials were on TV that told you to text a number to buy midi ringtones for your phone. this was way before app stores and smart phones. in-fact, the only handheld "smart" devices were PDAs and BlackBerry devices. and no, BlackBerry was a PDA company before it made phones.
I'll never, ever, have any sort of account on Windows 11. I would never have a workstation of my own dedicated to Windows 11. No cap, I would walk out on a job if that is what the job involved.
Microslops search engine bing opens when you type in something that the start menu search doesn't know, and even if you type in something it does know (terminal...)

Crazy Frog used to be the ringtone to put on your mobile back in the early 'aughts.

It was a frog making the sound of a two stroke motorcycle. Hence, why he has a helmet.

I thought it was pagers before? Though when I looked through their history, it was pager -> phones. 🤷
GreenKnight23@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 115d
you're not wrong but pagers weren't smart like the PDAs were.
aloofPenguin@piefed.world · 1 pts · 115d
Most definitely! I just was kind of surprised to learn that they made PDAs as well.

I dislike windows, but I've never once experienced this. Maybe it's because I've never used the Home version?
