On Linux, it works great for me over my browser, but i recently tried QBZ, and it both works and looks great! And its got lyrics, and other cool audio features like DAC, EXC, and Qobuz Connect that I don't really understand.

At this rate it will probably take me a year to run out of the 100 free searches that are included in the trial.
People are also growing cotton in Italy now, so maybe one day we could have cotton that's not only spun in Europe but also grown there. Still, lyocell and flax/hemp would probably be easier.
Got my old PC from 2011 working again, had loads of RAM at the time and runs pretty well now. Put it in the loft and installed proxmox on it. Am now using remote-backups.com from Germany as a remote backup :) for a load of services.
I recently bought a Fairphone 3 and installed Ubuntu Touch onto it, ditching Android entirely! I spent about 3 days working on this and would strongly recommend buying one of the newer ones with Ubuntu Touch pre-installed, I'm incredibly happy with it, feel freer than ever, and Google's however-much-money poorer for not having my data!
German: wera. They are super nice in the workshop and everywhere . Colour coded , super comfortable, smart stuff really.
For the bike I got a small “motorcycle” toolkit. With sockets and bits, tiny spanner, etc.
Dutch: eastbound. specific tools for fixing tyres . Lightweight wrench for the backwheel nut (34) and to get the tire off the rim. Very clever designed.
It does the job honestly. It's not the best out there obviously especially for coding but for me it's good enough most of the time.
Regarding Ente, don't they have headquarters in the US? I love what they're doing though. I ise the 2FA app and the recently released Ente locker

I just checked their services and while it seems great, the volumes are a bit small, aren't they? I host Immich myself and my collection uses about 90GB. Are the 10 given there enough for you?
I have started by importing my photos from 2020 onward and those consumed 3Gb, but I tend to curate my library so I don't have duplicates etc. And I don't record videos, but only photos. My whole collection of photos on Google Photos was 11GB before I stopped using it.
I think you can get more space with invite codes etc when you invite friends, but I never tried using them
Magic Pages (managed hosting service for Ghost CMS). Ghost is amazing. I thought bloging is dead. It's not. It's intuitive, scalable, natively suppors mailing AND fedi. MP makes it even better.
I signed up as a proof of concept, that this is a valid alternative. But man, did it delivered. It's my first choice now.
I feel its more a quirk of the internet, in how things naturally get divided. When browsing the web, you've likely found websites you never heard prior that are really big in other countries. Things just happen to be separated by regions, languages, etc. for purposes of relevance and accessibility.
In our space, things are largely dominated by European and North American influences. Once you cutout the whole USA from that, it's effectively Canada and Europe in this grouping too. I remember back when I was on Reddit, I saw 'Buy Canadian' quite a lot, just seems 'Buy European' is slightly more dominant on Lemmy.
True, I think that's how the world works mostly atm. Even the apps for very basic functions like taxi or delivery etc. are often completely different, e.g., in southeast Asia.
My main criticism is that the buy European movement is again isolationist. Europe is framed as the good/safe harbour (which it isn't) and the rest of the world is excluded because they are evil (which they aren't).
Instead, I think Europe would do good building stronger ties around the world, with African countries, India, Indonesia etc., at eye level, instead of excluding them and thereby excluding itself from the party as well.
It's not entirely excluding the rest of the world simply because everyone knows there's a ton of shit we just don't make anymore at scale in Europe. I think there is a bit of economic protectionism to it because it carries the idea of bringing some industries back to provide work for Europeans but that's hardly a bad thing.
Buying from europe supports our own economy, reduces co2 output on good being shipped around the globe and reduces supply chain risks. Of course there are many other reliable countries outside of europe, but if I have the choice between European product and product shipped across half the globe I know what I'm taking.
They employ people here, pay taxes here and are more likely to actually follow our jurisdiction fully. If I was trying to claim warranty from a company from another continent it might be more difficult

I also gave it a try, but had to cancel my plans to switch due to limited music selection and playlists lacking folders.
I am currently trialing Deezer, so I guess that still counts. Also can't do folders for playlists, but basically all my music transferred over.
