Im over hear just enjoying the trees flowering. Its the simple things that never get old. Good company, good food, and some peaceful scenery. All very obtainable.
Its my favorite thing about walking the dog in West coast Canada. Buds and blossoms, and tons of greenery. This week there was one cool morning and the dew on the grassy hill was just a fine mist instead of droplets. It looked like glitter as we walked to the top.
I miss the homemade kombucha that I used to make in a bucket. The problem with all of these store-bought kombuchas is that they're always flavored with something. Why doesn't anybody sell plain kombucha?
I can buy unflavored tea, coffee, beer, yogurt... but not kombucha.
I miss Costco. We moved to a rural part of the US a few years ago and the nearest Costco is now 2.5 hours away. Really hard to justify a 5 hour round trip to shop there. Luckily they do sell a lot of their stuff online but it's not the same without the browsing and the slice of pizza at the end.
Most bottling is done regionally for this reason. Though I do agree! I got my sink to disppense water hot enough for tea, I just fill a cup, add honey/sugar, and a baggy of flower, leaves and/or stems.
It's well water I manage myself (test and filter). I could see some tap waters being worse then others though! Though really anyone can test their water for pretty cheap.
Lol fair enough. I grew up with the food pyramid and only recently learned that actually eating most of my calories from bread isn't better then from mostly beens and veggies

Spouse and I tested us through the kombucha assortment in our preferred super market and found a new drink we can obsess about.
Find new everyday things and go crazy about them, it's fun!

I don't like the "pure" version. It tastes too much like grape juice which I hate with all I've got.
The second option with passion fruit also wasn't my cup of tea.
BUT the one with ginger and lemon tastes awesome!

Oh man, there is a ginger bug drink in my grocery store that I can't get enough of if it wasn't for the price.

Bonus points, if your partner is into that: Drinking green tea regularly makes your dick taste reeeally tangy.
Or so I was told.

Too bad it's Costco and that green tea is a one-off they'll never stock again.
Crackhappy@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 131d
That's why you buy a shitload of it all at once.

I think he’s talking about the bottled ito en oi ocha green tea in the plastic bottles

Definitely green tea, and ice cold flavored sparkling water. All the best parts of cola without the sweeteners.

I got my brother and myself some Maggie Organic socks a few years ago, we still talk about them from time to time. Solid socks, really hold up well.

I’m a huge fan of Wigwam for like 13 years running now. I’ll check out Maggie Organic, thanks!

In your 40s you become a hobbit. And truly enjoy it.
Snarking not infrequently about the silliness of non-Hobbits who don't understand safe, simple pleasures.

It’s always a challenge with new finds at Costco because the samples are so intriguing but the size is such a big commitment.
And I also have a bit of self-loathing about how informed the above comment is.

Doesn't matter. All you have to do is use at least half and you break even.

Imagine paying and polluting to ship water around the planet because you’re too lazy to put a couple dry leaves in a cup and wait a few minutes.
zarkanian@sh.itjust.works · 9 pts · 132d
It's green tea! People don't know how to brew it! Don't use boiling hot water or it'll taste like ass!
You want hot water, not boiling water. I just use a tea kettle that has a setting for each type of tea.

I thought hot tap water was bad for you? Of course my mom told me that back in 80s along with some other stuff that turned out to be not so true lol
BCsven@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 131d
They probably mean the extra tap you add that heats cold water for drinks, rather than the central hot water tank line
