Sportswatch display

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/45460975

Hi, i'm looking at a replacement for my garmin forerunner 305.

Something that fits running and swimming, preferablu not from usa, has good privacy, and .... Can be read without my reading glasses.

Most can be found in comparisons, but not readability without reading glasses.

But I can't be the only one ;) Any recomendations?

Honestly an applewatch might be your best bet. You can customize the readout up to a point. It might be big enough for you to read it without glasses. I track my swims and only sometimes look at them after. Never really during. I think in swimming it’s mostly useless.

Thanks for the sugesstion, but i'm not going into the apple ecosystem.

Went for polar pacer pro. Absolutely no regrets. Good gdpr compliance, fantastic display and all data also on website. Can do tcx fit and gpx export. Also manage swimming quite well

I can relate to not wanting to go into it. I’m moving on myself. Polars stuff seems nice enough. Good to know.

My polar is strong there too. I can disable displays I don't wanna see in watch mode (t.ex. i turned of music control. Will never ever use that)

You can select which sports and in which order are shown if you go to sports mode.

You can define for each sport which screens and in which order are shown in scrolling.
