I'm sorry about the mint chocolate I had to you left me no choice.

The committee is starting to get annoyed at me sleeping in

Also I got accepted as a volunteer at RSPCA store. Pretty happy with that. Surprised that Lost Dogs Home didn't respond.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 131d (1 reply)

but do they know where you live ?

also, they look so beautiful and healthy ๐Ÿ˜Š

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 130d

I guarantee if they knew where I lived, I'd be in significant trouble lol

I'm pretty happy that they are doing ok. Have been worried about them during winter, so I've rigged up a makeshift thing to protect the food when it rains.

Bottom_racer@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 130d (1 reply)

Missed the one top left at first lol.

Looks photoshopped in.

After many days of back and forth between myself, Coles supermarket and Coles credit cards a long saga of missing groceries followed by missing refund money has been concluded. I have now closed my Coles credit card and once I have spent my credit at Coles supermarket fully intend to never spend another cent in their stores ever again. Which is a dramatic change given they have been the supermarket I have gone to almost exclusively for decades.

I can say I've never experienced such terrible customer service before, beating even the OPSM debacle of 2009. The groceries were delivered to the wrong address. A full refund was eventually promised (but nothing ever communicated to me, I always had to follow them up through this whole saga to get any information). The refund was eventually processed a few days later, but never showed at the bank. The supermarket claimed they sent it and it was declined, the bank agreed it had been declined but couldn't say why. The supermarket refused to do anything else, both the bank and supermarket said it was the other's responsibility. Within the bank customer service said it was the security centre's responsibility, the security centre said it was nothing to do with them and to contact customer service.

Throughout all of this online chat communication was only available intermittently. The app directed me to send a text message, which received an auto reply with the store opening hours. Via email I was just told there was nothing they could do and I had to follow it up with the bank. I was eventually able to speak to someone on the phone and argued enough to get them to process a credit to my account so at least I haven't completely lost the money, even if I would have preferred the cash back. As a downside it looks like I have to spend the whole lot in one transaction online which is a bit annoying, but once that is spent I can happily never go to Coles again. I think I'll do click and collect instead of delivery for this one though.

Eagle@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 130d (2 replies)

Their online refund process is abysmal. Can't tell you how many orders are missing items that the refund never happens for. I end up giving up because the app directs you to the website, online chat that never goes anywhere. Yet with Woolies its almost immediate refunds for missing items.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 130d

yup, woolies has excellent service in this regard

RustyRaven@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 130d

Yeah, I had a refund for eggs a few weeks ago that I couldn't find any record of actually having received. I tried emailing about it and they basically said they didn't know anything about it, try again tomorrow. The live chat is supposed to be available during business hours but wasn't there today.

I've tended to persist with them because they have cheaper delivery, but it's not worth it if they don't deliver.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 130d (1 reply)

Ombudsman

RustyRaven@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 130d

That was my next step, but the process for following that up is also not very straightforward. Especially as I have no idea whether the actual problem was with the bank or the supermarket.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 130d (2 replies)

Did you pay by credit card or debit card? If credit then they will chase the money and if they don't then they're shit and I'd be closing that quick smart and finding a better one. If by debit then banks don't gives a shit.

Never give your debit card details to anyone.

RustyRaven@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 130d (1 reply)

It was a credit card. Also Coles brand. It was the credit card company that refused to accept the initial refund, and they can't give me any explanation as to why. I have already closed that credit card. They also had some dodginess happen where they didn't make my scheduled rent payment this month for no reason I could see, so I was already a bit unhappy with them, this was just the final straw.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 130d

Oh you did mention that in your post. My apologies.

I had to get out of the office this afternoon so I went for a walk around the nearby wetland.

I bought these cameras based on Kodak's Charmeras and accidentally got an extra one, so I brought it with me and got some photos with it's charming low quality snaps

fuck me dead I'm sick of companies pushing the labour onto customers.

no, I gave you the facilities contact for a shopping centre. You need to contact them and see if you need to do any induction before gaining access, the fuck do you want to involve me for. I'm fucking four states away and have zero control over any of this.

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 130d (2 replies)

The cat was back again today but I was too tired to go out there. I didnโ€™t want to change into old clothes and then do a full shower and clothes wash after. I just stayed inside to rest. I really just want some time to myself right now.

But even if I stopped feeding him to stop encouraging him away from home I wonโ€™t be able to avoid him when I leave the house. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Even if I donโ€™t pat him Iโ€™ll have to watch he doesnโ€™t dash inside when I open the door and heโ€™ll still rub up on my clothes when I go for a walk.

Iโ€™m considering giving the ringworm tablets and lime sulfur dip to his owners along with some food and spot ons, maybe theyโ€™ll treat him. (Or get defensive and refuse, idk.) Because Iโ€™m not consistently able to do it and none of this was my responsibility in the first place.

If they accept it and treat him, at least I wonโ€™t keep being reinfected. ๐Ÿคž

Edit: Iโ€™ve dropped the stuff with the catโ€™s name on it outside the owners door, knocked and left. I just hope it doesnโ€™t get stolen.

Application for a new credit card is underway. They are very thorough in the vetting process, I've had to send in bank statements and pay slips, they are not just throwing credit around based on a score. I think this is a good thing, it's a mutual bank so if the application is accepted I technically become a shareholder and definitely want them to be careful with my money.

Wearing the socks I made years ago. Very warm.

Iโ€™m not sure superwash wool was a good choice though. They can be machine washed and dried but due to a weird amount of stretching and growing they have to be, to shrink them back down to size. And they keep slipping off my feet.

Iโ€™d buy a specific sock yarn but $ and I am not doing hand wash delicates

::: spoiler spoiler Eh. Iโ€™ve simmered down and of course the black cat has lost trust and started avoiding me. Being made to take medication is way too much for him to handle after what could be a decade of no medical procedures.

I could try to slowly repair the bond if he comes back (if) and hope that the nutrition and parasite treatment alone get his body healthy enough to clear the ringworm by itself. But should I? Thatโ€™s asking me to endure constant re-exposure to it for potentially months, when itโ€™s very difficult to deal with physically and emotionally. And if heโ€™s got underlying conditions he may not clear it without treatment.

Itโ€™s a real pickle. I hope my email has handballed the responsibility for that right back to his owners where it belongs, so I donโ€™t have to be the bad guy.

I am really not interested in replacing Melbcat and want time for myself to grieve her properly but it doesnโ€™t mean I donโ€™t care about this little buddy and donโ€™t feel like shit for how itโ€™s panned out. :::

Taleya@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 131d (1 reply)

Anger spats are normal, as long as they don't become the default.

From an ND perspective there's also the angrymaking part of having a possible distraction from the ennui of grief being potentially snatched away. Then there's just the complete shit situation of wanting to help but very possibly not being able to (which btw does nothing to assuage the sense of moral obligation)

Ramble ramble but tldr: a boilover is an appropriate response. I'm just so sorry this is happening.

::: spoiler Tap for spoiler Totally get you, got a bit myself. Max is doing mondo dumps that for some reason trigger my rage at smells response, work is being a complete arseington and Cerys needs us to step back a few introductory steps. Its stressy and its angrymaking but i know the anger is just guilt I shouldn't really feel cosplaying as something else.

The horror persist but so do we. :::

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 130d

It isnโ€™t even a distraction from grief. Itโ€™s actually been complicating it and making everything more painful and stressful which is why I tried to handball this.

Itโ€™s also creating a lot of change, uncertainty and emotional rollercoasters right when I really donโ€™t need that, and putting me in no-win situations where I canโ€™t do anything to help.

Iโ€™m angry at the owners. I hope they take this cat to the vet. As he ages (already suspect arthritis) or if he gets too sick to ignore (already has cat flu and ringworm) it will eventually need to happen anyway and itโ€™s going to be more traumatic if heโ€™s not used to it.

And because he waits out front Iโ€™m going to risk reinfection every time I go out.

Yes. The horrors feel endless.
