Declare AIPAC a foreign agent just like their predecessor, then arrest and imprison all of their employees for aiding and abetting a terrorist organization.

in_my_honest_opinion@piefed.social · 32 pts · 123d

Yes, and, we need to cut their funding first. This would go a long way to do that.

Fishnoodle@lemmy.world · 30 pts · 123d

Same with cpac, turning point usa and the heritage foundation.

Cpac openly said that all of their members were domestic terrorists

Everyone that took their money has blood on their hands.

Fishnoodle@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 123d (1 reply)

We can seize all their assets and let them keep their hands

DaGreenGobbo@feddit.uk · 1 pts · 122d

Pfft, who wants bloody hands?

Earthman_Jim@lemmy.zip · 6 pts · 122d

Better yet, and this really should be a main priority at the tipidy-top of the progressive to-do list: overturn citizen united and get dark money out of the political system.

Lodespawn@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 123d

Yeah I'm sure the government they installed will get right on that ..

yesman@lemmy.world · 64 pts · 123d (4 replies)

they did not have the right to violate international law and wage an all-out war of enormous destruction against the entire Palestinian people – in what experts have correctly concluded is a genocide.

This should have been the opening. Bernie shouldn't have to spend 3 paragraphs proving his bona fides; preemptively defend vacuous accusations of bigotry; and acknowledge that Hamas are assholes, just to begin to list Israel's crimes.

After that opening, Bernie really cooks. I just feel like preemptive apologetics cedes too much ground to bad-faith actors.

sepi@piefed.social · 7 pts · 123d

He can write it however he wants. You can write your own version that skips whatever you don't like.

DaMummy@hilariouschaos.com · -2 pts · 123d (2 replies)

It's to get people like you to be genocide apologists. "Well, Hamas burned down the Reichstag building. What was Israel supposed to do?" To make people sympathetic. Unless Bernie comes out and condemns the IDF for the Hannibal Directive(which will at the very least cause his wife, and love of his life, to be imprisoned), nothing will come of it.

JimmyMcGill@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 123d (1 reply)

Can you explain that look last bit to someone who isn’t aware of it?

DaMummy@hilariouschaos.com · -1 pts · 123d

I'd have to get back to you on that one when I feel like looking up the specifics. But it is in relation to a real example, or at least why people assume he changed his mind on something. Think the IRS threatened his wife over something, unless Bernie changed his mind(votes or words). Maybe someone can chima in to what it was that remembers the specifics :/

They don't and won't listen to him.

Flatworm7591@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 33 pts · 123d (7 replies)

I know, but it's still notable a US Senator has come out and clearly articulated the argument, so credit where it's due.

Fishnoodle@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 123d (4 replies)

Jimmy Carter and Bernie Sanders are the best politicians the us has produced in the last century

discocactus@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 123d (2 replies)

I mean best people who are also politicians. Arguably Trump is the best politician, because despite openly being an absolute trainwreck of a human being he somehow has had power twice.

melfie@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 122d

Yeah, “best politician” isn’t really a compliment. The best ones are good liars who commit egregious acts while retaining a base that still worships them. Trump is formidable in that respect, though I think Obama is better. Obama did a lot of shitty things and is still widely adored, whereas most of the population will readily admit Trump is a piece of shit.

I didn't mean to take anything away from him. it's just frustrating when the ignorant clowns are in charge.

markko@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 123d

While he deserves credit for finally coming out with it, it is incredibly frustrating that it took him this long.

bulwark@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 123d

At least we'll get something on the record to show which Zionist representatives are willing to say no.

desmosthenes@lemmy.world · 24 pts · 123d (1 reply)

that man was the president we needed

Crackhappy@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 123d

I have voted in every election for decades. The only one where I actually caucused and actively promoted was in 2016. For him.

GuyIncognito@lemmy.ca · 14 pts · 123d (1 reply)

took him long enough

mattyroses@lemmy.today · 7 pts · 123d

Better late than never, but yeah

kreskin@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 123d

Good to start with no aid, then we need to bomb the shit out of them until they agree to stop murdering and oppressing innocents. The world doesnt like nazis.

theacharnian@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 122d

I'm pretty sure the guy in the photo is Netanyahu, not Sanders. /s

itisileclerk@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 122d (1 reply)

That will never happen. Never ever. It seams that people forget that there was "before Trump" time. It didn't matter whether a Democrat or Republican was in power, Americans came together when needed to bomb everyone they like, arm Israel to commit genocide, interfered in the elections of many countries.

Rentlar@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 122d

Never say never, 40-some Dems voted to block, what could that number be following midterm Senate elections?

Cactopuses@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 123d

Ìod

roserose56@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 122d

Like the no war? USA lies like always.

Karmanopoly@lemmy.world · -14 pts · 122d (1 reply)

Ok sure old man ...let's get you back in bed

Solrac@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 122d

If you don't like it, you can go back to sleep, but those of who are up and awake, we got work to do.
