Glad the author mentioned Oddworld. A great cinematic platformer that definitely was released between Prince of Persia and Replaced.

Blizzard's Blackthorne is another great entry in the genre.

I am so completely torn on this game. On the one hand I suck at platformers and don't much enjoy them and also from reviews it seems this game can be pretty fucking hard at times with some extremely precise timings.

On the other hand the game looks like an absolute work of art that I am craving to experience.

The game is beautiful, but unfortunately I don't find it fun to play. Controls feel unresponsive and it's often hard to tell what to interact with in puzzles. Combat is okay, but repetitive.

Wait, Delphine Software?!

Nah, someone else. And Éric Chahi is not involved, but taking inspiration from Another World does pick my interest.

It’s a shame it doesn’t have voice acting.

Too bad it has forced 21:9 aspect ratio, will wait until I get a 21:9 monitor then, because the demo was good.
