Science promotes facts, and facts as we all know have a liberal bias.

You see, they have a budget of 9 Bn $ that cannot reliably send to the pockets of child rapists friends so he needs to put in some yes men.

If Donald Trump really is. A foreign asset, paid to destroy the USA to its foundations, he could not do a better job.
Without democracy, the country turns into darkness, corruption
Without science, the country will slowly return to the dark ages, progress is halting
The USA has been terminal for decades, but man is trump euthanizing the crap out of it

Still angry they told him that injecting bleach won't cure Covid.

Authoritarians don't feel they have to explain themselves.

The reasoning is so obvious it doesn't need explanation. Science disagrees with a ton of their rhetoric. So science = bad. The way we change that is get rid of all people that know/study science, and replace them with people that will say whatever you want until science becomes what you want it to be.
Climate change is the best thing ever to happen to both earth and humans will be an upcoming headline I'm sure.

Next up though, all real science will be gone and with that, all progress. The country is dead soon

They've already started leaning into that with new mining and drilling opportunities in Greenland and the northern trade routes opening up as the ice melts

Honestly, how the fuck does he even have the power to try to do this? Like, if the president announced he was firing, say, me from my job at the local bookstore, we would laugh and move on with our lives, because he doesn't have that power. And if the president announced he was firing his own chief of staff, sure, that makes sense. But what's with him treating apparently the entire federal apparatus as if it's his own private business and firing people at will, when I should presume there would be an entire multi-level org chart between him and these people that would not give him the power to directly fire them?

IIRC the supreme court recently decided that federal employees had no protections because firing people for partisan reasons is ok even if their performance is fine
NikkiDimes@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 120d
Someone should fire them. Out of a cannon preferably.

How long until it gets to SCOTUS and they say he can't do that? 4 months? 8?

Facts are now feelings and those feelings come from fear.
