It should be noted that this (obviously) will not stop kalshi or polymarket. In fact, the federal government - the CFTC in particular - is teaming up with Kalshi and suing Washington (as well as 8 OTHER STATES) to stop them from trying to regulate prediction markets. This list will undoubtedly grow as 14 states are currently attempting to curb prediction markets on the state level. The party of small government everyone!!

The original story was he was using his vehicle as a weapon on the officer. Then the officer said he was fleeing and thought he was a danger to the public.

Initially:

"Prior to the brief ICE statement on the incident, Maine U.S. Sen. Angus King said Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin told him the officer opened fire after the man tried to use his vehicle as a weapon against ICE agents"

Then:

"The 'vehicle attempted to flee the scene and, fearing for public safety, an officer discharged his weapon,' the department said."

Now:

"When asked about the contrasting statements, King told CNN that that’s what the investigation is all about. [He responded] 'Did this young man actually try to run over an ICE agent or was he in danger of running over other people in the street?... Was there a reasonable expectation of bodily harm or deadly force to justify this shooting?'”

That works if the official story is the suspect was trying to flee. In all of these cases (as far as I'm aware), the suspect is "using their vehicle as a weapon" or in pretti's case, approached with a loaded weapon (this one in Maine seems more muddled tho with them initially saying he was fleeing and then changing their story like 15 times to make it seem like he was trying to hurt or kill ice agents)

Anyone who even takes a cursory glance at the existing video evidence of literally any of the cases including those who were shot and survived can see that this rhetoric is blatantly untrue and it is absolutely remarkable that these most recent cases involve zero officers with body cams for some mysterious reason. Regardless, it's important to note that it is the official position of the Gestapo ice that these victims aren't just fleeing, they are putting these disgusting piss baby agents' lives at risk.

I used to adopt retired racing greyhounds and a bunch of them LOVED fireworks and I am pretty sure it's because it reminded them of the starting gun. If they heard a firework in the distance they'd just get crazy excited start sprinting around the yard and beg to play lol

This is what I don't understand either. John Roberts said:

Subordinates who exercise the President's power are subject to removal by him. Then, and only then, can they remain accountable to the President, and the President to the people

Like, what? What sense does this make? Does this not objectively make it NOT independent? Does this not objectively destroy the separation of powers? Why is an independent agency accountable to the president? Aren't they there to serve the people only and not one person in the white house? How are they exercising the "presidents power?" The president(very purposefully) is not supposed to have that power. They do. That's... kinda the point. Isn't that like the definition of an independent agency? I don't understand what he's even trying to say here.

Domestic terrorists!! I hope they got the book thrown at them. You can't just be going around touching water like that.

Not OP but been thru this a ton of times cause I love dogs more than humans 😄. I dunno if you're gonna get a good answer here. Every situation is different, every person is different, and every dog is different. The best way I've been able to describe knowing when it's time is simply when it pains me to see my little dude/dudette just simply live. If they struggle just to get up each day or can't eat without vomiting or any number of maladies that make living more of an ordeal than I'm comfortable putting them thru, it's time. Life shouldn't be a punishment, especially for those little bundles of pure happiness. Its terrible and it's incredibly hard but I think most people end up just instinctively knowing the moment. Dogs (and even the few cats I've had) have a unique bond with their owners I think, and when that bond is strained to the point of breaking, you can just sorta feel it. Course, like I said, everyone is different and approaches the situation differently. Unfortunately i don't think there's an easy answer. For what it's worth, just from the sound of it, it seems to me like Delia has some fight in her yet and still enjoys her days.

I'm in the same sort of situation. My parents both started college and dropped out after 3+ years. Then raised 3 kids and bought two houses while paying off two college tuitions with no degrees to show for it all on one secretary's income. Me and my wife both have college degrees and both work full time and can barely afford the tiny house we bought after 10+ years of saving. We would like children but I just don't see how we could afford it. How my parents did it financially seems like straight science fiction.

What is the point of this reply? Lol everyone takes shits too but I don't want my grandma to hear all about a nasty smelling pure liquid shit I took the day before yesterday or something... Just because everyone does something doesn't mean you want everyone to know all about it...
