i can't imagine fascists believing so strongly that humans are altruistic, surely fascists generally believe people to be as self-interested as they are?
There are only 2 kinds of "true believers" under most governments: Suckers who are suffering under a government, and those who are pretending to be true believers while running that government so they can get away with it.
You're either spreading fascist propaganda or insanely naive. Neither of those are qualifications suitable for being taken seriously in a discussion of this topic. Good day.
I regret to inform you that there are people walking around today, espousing the benefits of fascism, who have never lived under fascism and who have no plans to be a fascist leader.
everyone on the lower rungs of society being obedient, and a fascist directly benefitting from taking control of a country.. are seen as altruism? truly wild!
personally, i'd prefer an alignment chart that sticks to "altruistic" versus "self-interested", since this shows how skewed it can get when people are convinced that horrible things they're doing are for the greater good 😬
Not altruistic in terms of trying to benefit everyone; altruistic in terms of expecting people to unselfishly serve the nation. This is the ideology, not the reality obviously.

They expect individuals to sacrifice their self-interest for the nation, and expect leaders to voluntarily do what is in the interest of the nation.
SarahValentine@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 9 pts · 99d
Expect? No, they demand with force. I don't think you know what fascism is.
stollen@lemmy.dbzer0.com · -1 pts · 99d
Sure but they also believe this is in line with human nature. And they trust their leadership to not be self-interested.

Then your diagram is a failure from the ground up because it fails to distinguish between espoused theory and theory-in-action.

It's what true believers believe.

That's not altruism and shouldn't be defined as such. It's nationalism and is ultimately a selfish view.
stollen@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 0 pts · 99d
Again, not claiming fascists are altruistic. Their ideology assumes people in general are not self-interested.

That feeling when OP doesn't understand that "Voluntarism" and "Rothbardianism" are both euphemisms for AnarchoCapitalism.
Or we're just trolling today.

There are different kinds of ancaps. Objectivists are also in that category.

So does the fascist believe people are altruistic and not care?
stollen@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 94d
In terms of valuing humanity, yes, fascists do not care about humanity or individual humans. They value their nation or identity as an abstract.
