The FBI raided the Portsmouth, Virginia, office of Virginia Senate President Pro Tempore L. Louise Lucas, a Democratic leader in the state behind its redistricting victory, on Wednesday, ostensibly over corruption allegations.

Lucas, an 82-year-old great-grandmother, has been a frequent critic of Republicans and President Trump, and is an ally to Virginia’s Democratic Governor Abigail Spanberger. Fox News covered the FBI raid live.

Why even do it if you're not going to make a spectacle of it? The whole point is to advertise Democrats as criminal and perp-walk them around to courts that will probably throw these shoddy cases out in a few minutes.

Republicans will end the 2026 campaign chanting "Lock Them Up". And maybe this time they'll actually mean it.

If Democrats do manage to take back a Congressional Majority and pick up a few gubernatorial seats in 2027, they'll once again be empowered by the engines of the state to retaliate against Republican criminality and malfeasance.

If they take back anything, they’ll do exactly what they’ve done for the past 50 years of right wing power creep: wring their hands and talk about taking the high road and healing as a nation.

We need a party that actually has the will to uphold laws. Impeach a president. Impeach congresspeople. Hold fucking trials. Throw fuckers in jail that belong in jail. We have a Supreme Court justice that has flagrantly taken bribes and refuses to recuse himself. Throw him in jail and say he can legislate from a steel toilet now. Just goddamn do anything.

Dems have been steamrolling races all over the country since 2025. The GOP is deeply unpopular and never had great margins to begin with.

They'll certainly lose the House this cycle. They've got a good chance of losing the Senate.

But if the swing vote in these Dem Majorities is John Fetterman, it won't matter
