Ed hud mod v3 was released a few months ago with Linux support. Much much better than running via wine in elites prefix (which did work, with difficulty)
I really have to give this a try. It may sound odd but I never tried changing the ingame HUD before. This is odd because I built a full blown cockpit for my space trucking fix 🤓

There is another way on Windows with much more options but AFAIK no one has managed to run it on Linux. It relies on injecting a dll into ED

You can do it per ship too, makes every ship feel unique. Highly recommended. Edhm ui
