Don't link to or participate on Lemmy.ml, join the boycott today!

Cross-posted as part of ongoing boycotting/protest efforts to reduce the influence of .ml comms and indirectly, the instance as a whole, to help vitilize and drive non-.ml comms and make it an easier decision for other instance admins to defederate because of the behavior and attitudes of the .ml instance admins (see megathread link above)

Some highlights from the link:

"If you don't support Russia then you just don't understand geopolitics" ~dessalines, main .ml admin, head dev https://lemmy.world/post/27352415

"See! nobody died IN Tiananmen Square, just AROUND it, so it doesn't count!!" ~ Davel, .ml admin https://lemmy.world/post/30673342

"NK is actually good and anything counter to that is Western propaganda!" ~dessalines, main .ml admin, head dev https://lemmy.world/post/31595035

Showing support for Ukraine on .ml is worthy of a site ban - dessalines, main .ml admin, head dev https://lemmy.world/post/32775563

Yea I know about the ml. Also I was trying to meme a meme, I was waiting my whole life about that. Regarding posting my meme ml, is was arbitrary, random, because I try not to post world alot.

I'm against desalines and its 2k per month and all his communist ideologies.

cm0002@toast.ooo · 2 pts · 80d

I think I understand your comment for the most part, so if that's the case, why do you contribute to .ml at all if you're already against his authoritarian ideologies?

There's lots of general meme comms you can contribute to that are off-world as well (I think a lot of us are also now avoiding posting to .world, I for one have completely cut myself off from posting there) besides this one there's

Damn, this picture has been around so long the kid in the picture looked a lot older when I first saw it.

BreadOven@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 80d

This must be C? 30 C is pretty hot depending on where you're from. 30 F is also somewhat cold depending on the same thing. Either way, just specify your units.

MNByChoice@midwest.social · 1 pts · 81d

Til fine. I expected a follow of: "Complains A/C is hot working hard enough"

doingthestuff@lemy.lol · 1 pts · 81d (4 replies)

Is 30 degrees supposed to be warm? In the winter I'd consider 30 F warm but in the summer I think 30 C is pretty mild

VonReposti@feddit.dk · 2 pts · 81d (2 replies)

It is officially a heatwave in Denmark if we hit 25C three days in a row. So, uh, as a rugged Scandinavian I'd like to object. 30C is not mild.

Cort@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 81d (1 reply)

LMFAO. When I lived in Phoenix it wasn't considered hot until it got above 100f/38c.

They typically have at least 100 days per year above 38c, but it's a dry heat

VonReposti@feddit.dk · 2 pts · 80d

In Denmark it is a very humid heat. It is quite usual to hit 95%-100% since the entire country is within 50km of the coasts and summer rain is a given. A dry month in Denmark is ~70% on average

hallettj@leminal.space · 2 pts · 81d

I'm sorry. I've often thought the term "temperate climate" is misleading. That's clearly bipolar

the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 81d (3 replies)

I am also quite confused by people wearing shorts and a coat.

cheers_queers@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 81d

you must not have been to the midwest lol

prettybunnys@piefed.social · 1 pts · 81d (1 reply)

My legs aren’t cold, but my core is chilly Willy.

Duh

30F in the American Midwest: Shorts and T-shirts

30F in the American South: 14 layers and they've cleared the grocery stores of all water bottles in panic

cmbabul@slrpnk.net · 1 pts · 80d (2 replies)

30F is literally below freezing. If y’all think youre tougher than the water making up most of the human body go right ahead

chronicledmonocle@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 80d (1 reply)

As someone who has lived in the Midwest most of my life, people absolutely walk around in shorts and T-shirts after the temp jumps post-winter.

cmbabul@slrpnk.net · 1 pts · 80d

I ain’t doubting that, I’m just saying it’s cray
