I thought maybe I'd need to invest in some warmer socks. Then I thought I don't really want to buy more when I have a drawer full. Where would I put them? What about if I put 2 pairs on? and guess what it worked.
Sometimes you gotta spend 5 minutes to workout what you want and what you don't want and then a really simple solution may pop up.
I dislike being called heartless for not taking in 5 stray cats. Yes, I'm aware they need to be spayed.
This is not cheap. Plus the logistics involved are quite complex.
Yes I'm aware they need to go to a shelter. That's what I've been trying to organise for 18 fucking months you fucking harpies.
So unless you have something useful to add, like maybe, if there's a vet that may consider lowering their fee, or you know of a rescue that will take them,
Thereโs always the peanut gallery... They donโt realise that all of the fosters and shelters are pretty much at capacity right now. Youโre doing a good thing doing as much as you can right now.
Happy to try and rustle up some resources for you if youโd like that? I know there are low cost options for desexing and vet care, pet food pantries/food parcels, and bulk buy foods that work out cheaper
I did not know that I needed this in my life, but I am glad I found this. The information could be important to us all. I just don't know in what context.
Unfortunately I dreamt I had to speak at an event about trains hosted by Robin Williams and I lost my notes and forgot my words and everyone got up and left and Robin Williams and my boss from 20years ago were very disappointed in me. I know my brain is just washing away stress in its own litttle way but geez I do NOT know where it got all that from
Have you ever been to see a tribute band? I went with friends to see "Van Halen" once. They were alright. I'll never forget "David Lee Roth's" zebra leggings.
I went to see The Darkness, who were sorta tribute. Had a great time. They came on stage each member wearing a different Jimi Hendrix outfit. I laughed so hard.
I saw a Johnny Cash act once, he was pretty good but the room was just a concrete box and it was too loud.
I watched a Metallica cover band when I first moved here. There was a guy in the crowd that looked more like Kirk Hammett than the guitarist in the band and it was so loud my ears rang for two days after. I think that's when I decided to start wearing earplugs to shows
Yes. Some are very very good, and some are quite frankly horrible. Usually the 'cuter' the name, the worse they are. Imo the best are the ones that re-interpret the songs to suit themselves, more covers than an attempt to re-create the original songs. The level of musicianship varies a lot but can be impressive. Worth a low end of range ticket price at least just to find out which.
There was a Black Sabbath tribute band back in Toronto. They were awesome (wish i remembered their name). I think Ozzy watched them play a few times and had kind words.
Bought the world's most boring gameboy as another keyboard option at trivia.
This will get the job done but I'll need to see how the ergonomics are. The mouse click and volume buttons are on the opposite sides, and I'd ideally like to operate it with one hand since I need to hold the mic as well
beach was scary, much of it was unpassable with silty mud
came back an hour early
Some pics from the beach
a pretty starfish, one I have never seen before, and nice shell
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asterias_amurensis !!!. I think I will inform the gov i have spotted this horribly invasive starfish ( edit , There are already millions of the bastards in the bay ๐คจ)
I mainly just play vs two friends, Against one im like 40% wins and the other im like 35%. I'd guess vs the average chess enthusiast I'm probably like 45% winning
I've been using https://mynoise.net/ a lot lately when I need to concentrate or when I am in an open plan office. I usually just put on some instrumental music but lately I've been needing something totally ambient and this has lots of options and seems to be legit non-ai. Just sharing
One of my go to's for the various noise colours - white, brown, pink etc. They also have an app which is pretty good, does drain your battery a little though at least on my 5 yr old phone.
My other background music go to is DroneZone on SomaFM.

Thin sock first, then thicker sock on top.
Tried and true method.

I was really happy I could fit into my slippers with my bamboo work socks on. It's a tight fit initially but my feet feel great once in

Edit: National desexing month is coming up in July so hopefully that expands your choices https://ndn.org.au/low-cost-desexing/
Edit 2: Argh, thereโs apparently legalities regarding having to be the ownerโฆ but thereโs currently one council doing free targeted desexing and rehoming of semi-owned cats. Perhaps this is a good avenue to look into https://www.petrescue.com.au/library/articles/free-cat-desexing-a-win-for-cats-councils-and-communities#targeted%20desexing
Edit 3: This list of councils that got grants is from 2024 so maybe check if yours is on there and ring up to check with them if it isnโt https://agriculture.vic.gov.au/livestock-and-animals/animal-welfare-victoria/cats/cat-management-initiatives/targeted-cat-desexing-program.
For good measure https://aussie.zone/post/30951352
And Give A Kitty A Home could help with desexing and homes too https://gakah.org.au/our-programs
