Yes, I've just plugged in for power. But I had to post this first! After last night's thriller we get treated to some more tasty treats. And that's a screenshot of Rugby Kick Off
| Home | Time (UTC+1) | Away |
|---|---|---|
| Italy | 1230 | Namibia |
| Ireland | 1430 | Romania |
| Australia | 1700 | Georgia |
| England | 2000 | Argentina |
We're going start with daily match threads for the pool stages. So do sort by new for comments
All these thrilling in their own ways, but England vs Argentina you can bet is going to be a spicy physical affair tonight. France set for another sweltering day, highs of 34C in Paris, a touch cooler in the south. So expect sweat, water breaks, and and people to ask if Georgia should join the 6 nations

Lawrence Dallaglio talking out his arse as ever. One too many nose beers before the start

Fucking hell. These anthems š¤£
"Dum Dee Dum Dee dum"
Can we have some music, please? You know, a band, like it's meant to be?

Well done France for destroying the anthems...made my ears bleed to hear the mockery of the Italian anthem š¤¬š¤¬

Has the Georgian winger cut speed flaps in his scrum cap?

Come on los Lelos! Give Australia a shock

They are looking so good so far! This may be one of the only times I wouldn't mind a NH team to win.
Edit: and of course Aus score a lovely try right after I say that

Can either team please string 2 phases together please?!

Sorry to moan, but is anyone finding this ITV coverage awful. The fake green screen set, the shit games show podiums and the punditry isn't particularly insightful.
They have some good people on there, but the whole setup is jarring.

Feels so cheap

Crazy how the dutch coverage is better than what you describe and almost nobody cares about rugby here lol

I feel kinda bad watching Romania get manhandled by the Irish
Olap@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y
Yeah, why have they started Sexton?
chimelder@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y
I guess they felt Romania was only a couple of steps up from a training match. I'm sure they were questioning the decision after he got that knee into the wrist after his first try but in the end it turned out to be a good decision.

Hasnāt played in about six and a half years so needs some easy game time to work out the kinks, I guess.

Eng-Arg the obvious one to watch today. Iād love Georgia to turn Australia over, but for one it isnāt going to happen, for two I can only handle the āreplace Italy with Georgiaā moaning once a year
PhobosAnomaly@feddit.uk · 2 pts · 2y
I thi k it'll probably the best indicator yet to see if Eng have been sandbagging, or have genuinely collapsed.
Hard to tell against Wales who are already in the midst of their own self-destruction, or Fiji who play a vastly different game.
Italy Namibia might be a bit tasty if the Italians are slow out of the blocks.
Zerimski@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y
If England are sandbagging, every single person involved needs an Oscar. In fact, chuck in the Emmy, Grammy and Tony as well and EGOT the lot of them.
daveuk@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 2y
I agree, as a staunch England supporter I wish they were sandbagging...

Italy starting to turn the screws here vs Namibia. Looks glorious though

Just waiting for Odogwu to light things up against a tired defence. Could be carnage.

Argentina lucky to stick with the yellow. Curry deserving that red though
