Many of us will be watching it for free either way. Wouldn't give these greedy broadcasters a penny.

They’re paying billions for the rights. It’s football that are the greedy bastards.

The amount of adverts is insane too. Why would I pay an extortianate amount of money to have so many betting adverts thrown at me.

Its got so bad lately. I remember as a child when sports games were on I didn't see any, then in my teens/early 20s I didn't watch anything and watching something recently its just endless and so in your face.

Turns out they allowed gambling advertising in 2007 here.

Does anyone else think he wouldn't give a shit if it wasn't Arsenal in the final?

As far as I can tell he certainly didn't say anything to TNT about the Villa final last week.

Panem et circenses

Caesar urges Colosseum to make Circus final free to watch.

Context:

Roman practice of providing free wheat to Roman citizens (the Annona) as well as costly circus games and other forms of entertainment as a means of gaining political power. In much modern literature, this represents the Annona as a "briberous and corrupting attempt of the Roman emperors to cover up the fact that they were selfish and incompetent tyrants".[8]

Unhinged. Refusal makes him look weaker, acquiescence makes him appear more interested in kick-the-ball than genocide. Have his team lost control of him?

Sir Keith: Team, I'm getting hammered by this local election stuff...what do poor people like that can win me favour?

Team: Fairness in society and upwards economic mobility?

Sir Keith: No. Football. That's right. I'll say something about football. Up the blues, or reds. I meant reds. Up the reds.
