Security cameras and an alarm systems methinks, that's terrifying! Nightmare fuel shit.
You know your husband better than us (obviously), but from my experience with my feminist partner, these types of serious conversations with men, even they need to be told how serious this is. Like, emphasise the concern, how important it is, how deeply afraid/concerned/upset you are. And lay out what you would like him to do. Sometimes they need to be told what the solution is, so they can physically act. And make it a Thing. Sit him down, tell him you "need to talk about something extremely important to me", that you require his full, undivided attention in this matter.
It may help to write down how you're feeling. I know it's a lot of mental workload to take on, when you're already under so much stress right now. And I'm definitely not saying this is going to fix anything, as I said I don't know your husband from a bar of soap.
I'm so sorry you've experienced this, sending you all my love
To me finding a stranger in the house is hugely concerning! How is he getting in? I mean, is the door locked? Definitely the police should be involved! If this kid has a carer then they need to know he's wandering too.
That is so frightening!! ! How did he get in, was door unlocked? First thing is safety, ie make sure it canโt happen again, lock doors. Ask husband why heโs not bothered? Maybe he genuinely believed the kids story? But honestly I donโt know any teenager that โaccidentallyโ walks into the wrong house. Was probably trying to rob the place and then decided to back down and made up an excuse when confronted by an older male. Had you been in the house by yourself, who knows maybe the intruder would have calculated differently. You did the right thing calling the police. Iโm so sorry this happened, sounds awful.
fuck me I found out the hard way that auspost have apparently discontinued digital ID and you can go fuck yourself because they don't do keypass any more either. Great for those of us without fucking drivers licenses
Home again. Fed and wined. Am slightly regretting rant below. But not much. The lunacy starts again tomorrow. I have threatened my boss with my immediate retirement if he gives me any more shit to deal with - especially the shit he doesn't want to deal with. I am too old for this. I do not want to contemplate what this EOFY is going to be like. It's still May goddammit.
Also, I've been trying to coordinate going to the movies with my friends and I think the cinemas have it backwards. I don't want to go out and spend big money to watch the latest slop that will just be forgotten about in a year's time. If I'm going out to the movies, spending big money, and making an event of it, I'd rather watch a movie I like or one I've heard is good.
Like, I'd rather watch Empire Strikes Back on the big screen and get that experience than take a punt on The Mandalorian vs Grogu. Cinemas should take the Kpop Demon Hunters method and leave the slop for streaming and have bottom up demand drive what goes into a cinema.
Try smaller picture houses. Brunswick Picture House and Thornbury Picture House generally have more interesting movies shown, as well as the more well-known films too.
Palace Theatres tends to be similar as well, while also showing international films too. Generally I've had a better time when avoiding Village and Hoyts
I like going to Nova and wish I could make it there for special showings more often.
The only reason we couldn't do that this time is we're trying to watch Mortal Kombat II, which is getting hard to find and the indies rightfully wouldn't have shown it to start with
I just tried an espresso martini chocolate from Koko Black. Itโs a chocolate with vodka, ground coffee and espresso liqueur inside. Itโs orgasmic. ๐
I've never had an espresso martini but next week for my birthday I will. I could only imagine with koko black chocolate it would be the ultimate. Lucky duck.
On a recent trip to Ikea I bought some Swedish lingonberry jam. Itโs a nice red jam, but not as nice as raspberry or strawberry so not worth a special trip to Ikea to buy it. Also tried a new Pilates place, Iโm trying to get a bit more active.
Just resolved a major point of confusion for myself that there are actually TWO indie games about being a female mechanic in 90s Japan with anime aestherics coming out this year. They're not the same game.
One is Honcho, made by the guy that made Jalopy, which seems to be more of a cosy sim. And Kaido Genkai, which seems to have more emphasis on racing.

Resignation sent. Today's gonna be an interesting one ๐
This is a really good thing tho. Great new job lined up to start in a month. Will leave my current company in the shit, but they get what they give.

I'm half way between very annoyed and concerned
I've been really poorly this week and went to bed early
Husband found a stranger in our house, came in thru front door, and husband has not taken this seriously.
just a weird lost older teen in pjs, maybe ,
finally convinced husband this is a police matter
and this is the second call to police. First call and the guy has come back
yeah, i'm a little creeped and concerned
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 83d
How bizarre. Is husband trying not to stress out because he knows you already have enough on your plate?
Hugs ๐ซ
