I wonder how much he would have to "prove" about his illness in order for it to count as too ill to work, but considering how much of a pile of shit he is he already qualifies as one among many of the sickest people on the planet.

Yep. If I ever reach a terminal condition and have nothing to lose, why wouldn't I try to leave this place better than before my exit? I've got no particular skills in this area, but I could get lucky.

Probe as in have a doctor's note? This seems like a formal requirement with little real world impact outside of outrage generated.
Edit: right, paperwork and us doctors system. Makes sense that this is bad.
