John Brown invaded the homes of slavery supporters, dragged them from their bed, and hacked them to death with swords in front of their kids. I suppose you'd say that was inappropriate.
John Brown would say that the institution of slavery was violence it'self and therefore any action taken against it, or it's supporters is justified as defense of life.
Violence against fascists is always in the defense of self or others.
There's no such thing as a peaceful Nazi. Sure, there are times where a physical attack wouldn't be appropriate, but someone waving a swastika is inciting violence against minorities and contributing to their extermination, so they should be treated just like Nazis doing physical violence are treated. As @yesman@lemmy.world said, beating up fascists is self-defense.
Violence against nazis is self defense. The ideology specifically calls for the elimination of ethnic groups and should thus be terminated with prejudice. Nazis are cancer for society. If they are allowed to exist the cancer will kill the society. See US right now.

I wasn’t that much of a lurker, it was an 11 year old account with around 150k karma. mine was for agreeing with a Muslim that the bloke who disarmed the Bondi shooter didn’t kill him because he was a peaceful Muslim and that turned out to be correct. Permabanned for it though and I understand I wasn’t alone.
I got banned for Saying that not letting us make threats of violence against this rapacious regime is complicity in their crimes. In a thread asking how people thought how trumps presidency would end, in response to another user.
That is not a threat of violence, that's a critique of moderation. Perma ban. I mostly posted on Minecraft subs. 12 years and 90k karma gone.
I got banned for saying an immigrant who stabbed a 9 year old schoolgirl out shopping with her mother should be deported to the centre of the Ocean. Had hundreds of up votes at the time as well so I think popular opinion of most people.
