Fucked over too many rich people to get off scot free.

scrubbles@poptalk.scrubbles.tech · 53 pts · 75d

You can steal from regular people no problem, but he fucked up and decided to steal from the rich. Straight to jail.

brem@lemmy.world · 25 pts · 75d

Imagine what would happen if too many rich people started fucking over normal people... oh wait.

Nevermind.

!Spoiler alert!<

I guess this is why he's trying to get a presidential pardon.

yggstyle@lemmy.world · 22 pts · 75d (4 replies)

He really shoulda bought himself an island. Or a leather jacket and sold snake oil. One of those.

sin_free_for_00_days@sopuli.xyz · 17 pts · 75d (1 reply)

You can buy a pardon from the president for pretty cheap. I'm surprised he's not already pardoned.

yggstyle@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 74d

He may have missed the window where the president was cognitively capable of signing his own name. He's already regressed to child like babbling, tantrums, and shittng his pants.

scarabic@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 74d (1 reply)

You have to hand it to NVidia. People only have two complaints about their products: that they cost too much and are constantly sold out.

yggstyle@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 74d

Oh no question. Wall street isn't about being honest. He has a certain set of skills. You could quite comfortably draw tons of parallels to any number of organized crime groups. Dudes pure evil but if youre gonna be in the mob you might as well be the boss.

TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world · 35 pts · 75d (1 reply)

He defrauded the wealthy that's why he's not getting away with it easily.

AngryRobot@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 74d

Yep,mhe committed the worst sin imaginable: Stole from the wealthy.

Enjoy your time in prison

prenatal_confusion@feddit.org · 12 pts · 75d

White collar, minimum security. I am sure he won't have the gishlane service package but he will be alright. Also he will be up for parole soon enough and then be released.

yggstyle@lemmy.world · 19 pts · 75d

Let's see here... we just take your time served ... apply some creative math with some leverage and we'll have you out in a ji....

Hadriscus@jlai.lu · 17 pts · 74d

IPeaceInYourFace@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 74d

Just remember this guy is a scapegoat. The real evil dudes got away Scot free... As they always do

brem@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 75d (6 replies)

It won't stick, but it's a good start.

In a few years all of the boomers will start dying in mass numbers. Think of them as meat shields. Their inheritances will get spread out amongst many bastards and at least one of them won't stand for this shit anymore.

Archer@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 75d (5 replies)

You kidding? Boomer wealth is going to go to assisted living care and then run out. All that wealth is going straight to CEOs and the Epstein class

melsaskca@lemmy.ca · -4 pts · 74d (4 replies)

I like how you two speak of Boomer wealth as it is more than just the top ten% greedy fuckers that exist in any generation. How astute and profound! What thinkers you are. Yeah, I'm a broke Boomer that is offended by your general brush strokes. Hey! Look over there! All the Lithuanians are wearing striped socks! All of them!

SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 74d (3 replies)

I like how you think of wealth solely in terms of money. That's just a number in a database.

There's a lot of houses owned by boomers and the housing market is insanely expensive. When all of those houses go on the market, people might be able to afford to buy a house again. Owning a house is wealth.

melsaskca@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 73d (2 replies)

I think it's more about foreign interests owning more rental properties than the boomers own housing. But go ahead...it's boomers all the way down, that are the cause of everything. Even back during the fall of Rome I'd guess. I don't want to fiddle with your hard wiring.

SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 72d (1 reply)

I'm just stating facts. When people die, houses go onto the market.

That's a fact that goes all the way back in history, not anything unique to the boomer generation. Though I think there's a tendency I see often in the boomer generation: Wanting things to be worse for future generations for some reason.

Does it really bother you that after you die, someone else is going to be living in your house and that will be something that will improve their lives?

melsaskca@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 71d

If you want to back-peddle then that's fine. It shows me your willing to accept the argument that it's bit of everybody, all the time, throughout history. Not just those fucking boomers. The things you see in a specific generation is dependent on when you were born. Look closely at human nature. That shit has existed forever. If my death can help a family get ahead then I'm all for it. You make a lot of assumptions so I will assume the traditional use of the phrase "SpaceCowboy".
