The US paid for this for decades. Yes, it will forever be the US's (and UK's) mess, and when it get better I have serious doubts they'll be the one deserving praise.
Interesting, since the leader of the movement getting bombed made a statement an hour ago mocking those who make the claim you're making. The US can stop this at any moment it wishes, and anyone claiming anything else is either ignorant or malicious.

Also they're primarily destroying infrastructure in already ethnically cleansed areas.
