That’s funny, before I joined Atlassian my previous company also used their stack and Confluence was the only product I could stomach. All the products have rapidly evolved over the last few years though.
The company claims good values and I would say mostly lives up to them, especially transparency. Though overall it is slowly becoming more corporate as it grows and especially leans in to AI hype.
The people and compensation and benefits are great, you get a lot of resources (can just spin up a fully hosted app via a terminal command if you want).
I am also lucky to be part of a small, internal-facing, chill, and yet important team so my experience on day-to-day work would definitely differ from a random Jira dev though.
I’ve not yet met anybody who has disliked working at the company — everybody dislikes the ‘APEX’ system used for measuring performance though lmao.
I’ve watched the video and work at Atlassian, that’s entirely not what the video is. The guy basically just goes over what he worked on and some things he learned. It’s basically a solid video resumé with a clickbait title. Nothing he says is new or scandalous - most of it’s open source.
But like, it mostly kinda is? Like there are handful of dumb jokes like ‘trans woman is super strong’ but she is portrayed as a beautiful woman who is nice and smart and the conclusion is Douglas being sad because he broke up with her for the stupid reason of transphobia. IIRC Linehan even pointed this out and was proud to be pro-trans at the time. Then he went insane.
Xbox is just going to be a brand/publisher I reckon.
There’ll be ‘Xbox verified’ console PCs or somesuch that aren’t necessarily made by Microsoft, and there’ll be the Xbox app for games and streaming, and Xbox published games.
And then another 5-10 years later they’ll phase that out and just be ‘Microsoft Gaming’ or somesuch branded, and the last traces of Xbox will be gone.
Out of all the digital stores Steam arguably offers by far the most actual functionality and features for its cut. It’s still too high, but it’s possibly the least egregious example vs Apple, Google etc
Yeah I agree. I love GN for what they do but I never watch their videos because I find the formats quite bad. Too long, boring, and designed so you can’t just skip to the end like HUB for example.
He’s a perpetual 14yo watched by other man-children and those who don’t know better about tech.
PETA sucks but surely this has gotta be a false flag
Nah it’s half assed Taika Waititi
What makes GN fake?
Personally, I fantasise about evil people just getting clean decapitated with like a katana or similar.

‘I want to go back to when the propaganda was better’

D4 also had a DLC recently. Yes the D2 update was just now so its spike is newer but it’s not meaningless that D2 has surpassed D4.
Yep. Excellent film too.

In Australia we usually call them soft drinks (even when alcohol is not even remotely relevant) or kids call them fizzy drink.
Boiling the frog
Like many others, I switched away recently after years of Mozilla’s constant suckery. Fed up with dealing with their constant terrible decisions.

I mean, you shouldn’t be able to impeach someone for consensual non-problematic homosexual relations. The pedo stuff however….
