"I can't figure out my music type" - Bocchi the *Rock*

🤔

TotallynotJessica@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 16 pts · 38d

The genre is quite varied

Battle_Masker@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 13 pts · 38d (2 replies)

Tbf, if you listen to a rock radio station, one minute they're playing Metallica, the next minute it's Imagine Dragons, then suddenly it's the Rolling Stones, then it's that Post Malone song where Ozzy raps a verse

0ops@piefed.zip · 7 pts · 38d (1 reply)

I'm tired, my eyes did that thing where I accidentally read the same line 3 times in a row, but it was the imagine dragons line, so accurate

Jo4ted@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 38d

Welcome to 66.6 FM, where we play nothing but rock, rock, and MORE ROCK! This aint your grandma's channel!

GalacticSushi@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 17 pts · 38d

I just like listening to good music. If you can't figure out what that means your taste in music just isn't that good.

djsoren19@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 6 pts · 38d

It's actually very easy to explain, it's eclectic.

you just say that and refuse to elaborate further, people will find you so mysterious

Jankatarch@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 38d

Unless it has like a really, REALLY artistic music clip, in which case I like listening to it even if I dislike the music.

Is it weird that some so-called Femcels are actually kind of hot?

impairedimperator@lemmy.zip · 11 pts · 38d (1 reply)

Most people seem surprised to find out that I've made it into my 30s without ever finding a girlfriend. Many women have told me "wow, I'd love to find a guy like you"...the obvious implication being not me.

I imagine it's not that different for women who struggle to find relationships.

WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today · 4 pts · 38d

I'm told I'm hot, but I seldom get hit on, and it's usually someone I am uncertain about and can onoy say "Uh..." to.

rumschlumpel@feddit.org · 10 pts · 38d (4 replies)

You don't need to be particularly hot to not be a femcel, lots of kind-of-ugly people are in relationships. It's all about the social skills and being able to find people you gel with. And, considering the character in the post, not having crippling psychological issues.

WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 38d (1 reply)

I mean, they can just date incels, and fix each other!

rumschlumpel@feddit.org · 6 pts · 38d

Or make each other worse!

Jimmycrackcrack@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 37d (1 reply)

Who's the character in the post?

darthelmet@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 37d

Bocchi from Bocchi The Rock. It’s really good.

QuinnyCoded@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 37d (1 reply)

worth mentioning this sub in particular is kinda half-ironic half-serious. There's quite a difference between this 'aesthetic' and actual incel culture which is pretty disgusting.

WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today · 3 pts · 37d

I know. I don't know why I talked about it as if they were real femcels.

djsoren19@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 7 pts · 38d (1 reply)

femcels are like pure distilled hot girl shit, so no not that weird

WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 37d

Which is why it's depressing that they can't get anything.

sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 33d (6 replies)

... no?

Have you ever met a conventionally attractive, but socially awkward autist or serious introvert?

Of any sex/gender?

Some such people are women!

WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 32d (5 replies)

I can fix her!

sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 32d (4 replies)

thwaps you with a ruler

No! No.

You don't need to fix that.

You just need to be ok with also being an introvert / socially awkward person, and then you two can be eachother's person who is generally less taxing and more enjoyable to socialize with than others.

WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 32d (3 replies)

I am awkward and stressed, but not an introvert! Under the right (wrong) circumstances, I can drown a person in conversation, and even be very excited to talk!

Since I will never bother someone by telling them they are kind of cute/asking them out, my only hope is that I get kidnaped by a crazy femcel!

sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 32d (2 replies)

Not sure if we've gone over this before, but that sounds like me 10-20 years ago: socially awkward in a usually endearing but sometimes extremely (unintentionally) inflammatory way.

cough Autistic cough.

I know its scary but you really do just need to practice socializing a bit more, in person.

Probably safer to practice with other autists, if you can find them.

Being able to ask a person for something, politely, in a context appropriate way is an extremely important life skill. Yes, I know it really sucks and seems confusing as fuck because people do not actually make sense.

... But people do mostly make sense, most of the time. It just takes exposure, and courage.

I suspect ADHD, my brother has Asperger symptom. Could possibly be AuADHD?

Yeah, I appreciate you, and your advice!

We talked about stuff before, and I like you in general.

sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 32d

Asperger's just is part of Autism now, the DSM V basically rolled up everything similar into Autism Spectrum Disorder, where there are a whole bunch of behavioral 'dimensions', and basically if your 'total score' exceeds a certain threshold, congrats you get the Autism achievement, lol.

99% sure anybody who was diagnosed/classified as Aspergers would now be essentially a 'flavor' of Autist.

There is also a significant genetic component to Autism... if your brother, mother, father have it, etc, more likely you will as well, or at least be higher on the ASD score than a normie from a family of normies.

AuDHD is Autism + ADHD, which can and do co-occur, but at least for myself, I'm just Autistic.

Anyway, this is all an overwrought way of me trying to say you have more options than consigning yourself to hope for a fantastic movie plot to occur to you.

rumschlumpel@feddit.org · 4 pts · 38d

Songs? I prefer weird rhythmic noises.

its_kim_love@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 4 pts · 38d

I like garbage music. Especially Garbage.

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 38d (3 replies)

It took me the longest time to figure out why I loved the Mountain Goats. It's because they are philosophically absurd. The tone of their music rarely matches the tone of their lyrics. One of their most popular songs is about how much you hate your soon to be ex, how much you want them to die, and it's so happy.

JamesBoeing737MAX@sopuli.xyz · 2 pts · 37d (1 reply)

No children?

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 37d

yes
