Jucika is so frequently the writer’s poorly disguised fetish lol

I mean maybe, but you really have to contextualize the comic.

We're talking about concepts about the embracing of sexuality and attractiveness, about choice and control of ones body, at a time when sexual liberation was just barely coming onto the scene, in a part of the world which came from an extremely sexually repressive history. These comics are a huge challenge to the social authority around what is permissive regarding sexuality. They're quite revolutionary.

That is true and the way that the comic generally portrays men and women is a huge shift from the past, but it is also true that the writer is horny lmao

Uncovered from the Hungarian archives of the time:

But also, what's wrong with being horny?

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 68d (1 reply)

Hell yeah dude. Just like, don't wave it at people without their explicit permission.

ArcaneSlime@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 68d

Well that's called indecent exposure.

Depending on where and when you live, a lot.

lemongarlic@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 68d

Nothing wrong with it necessarily

Obligatory mention that Pusztai's wife destroyed all of the Jucika originals after he died for precisely this reason.

I think he actually told Kafka he wouldn't do it

Epp@lemmus.org · 24 pts · 69d

What an irrationally petty act for an unhealthily jealous person. Destroying someone's creations after they have died; that's so sick.

Ha, yeah. The artist seems to love the fan service.

Klear@piefed.world · 19 pts · 69d (2 replies)

I could also use some fan service. This heatwave is killing me.

Stay strong out there

Klear@piefed.world · 7 pts · 69d

I'll rather stay strong inside. Not going outside until it starts raining.

Lad in the pink shorts has a chub

samus12345@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 69d (1 reply)

That's one pointy chub!

MeatPilot@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 69d

Don't shame him for having a triangle shaped penis.

When you're fashionable but still occassionally need to get work done.

That ink alignment is atrocious.

ripcord@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 68d

Ah the age of newspapers

LiveLM@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 68d

Honestly? Kinda charming, specially the yellow disalignment.
