Y'all planning to fire the folks that went with the spicy autocorrect over the engineers or nah?

SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social · 13 pts · 42d

They'll all get a bonus, that'll show em

Goun@lemmy.ml · 24 pts · 42d

In the article:

Ford currently leads the industry in the number of recalls, and its quality ratings have slipped over the past several years.

But also in the article:

The automaker was recently named No. 1 in JD Power’s initial quality ranking for the first time in 16 years.

Aren't those power rankings basically just paid for and marketing?

atrielienz@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 41d

Being the industry leader of recalls since at least 2020 will do that, but also, I want to point out that JD Power and Associates are a joke.

Ford had to hire back former engineers-

ford had engineers???

Goun@lemmy.ml · 9 pts · 42d (3 replies)

Who do you think is in charge of installing engines?

deegeese@sopuli.xyz · 4 pts · 41d

Motors are installed by motorists.

atrielienz@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 41d (1 reply)

Automotive installers and technicians. Certainly not engineers.

Edit: someone will be here in a few seconds to tell me that was the joke. I'm sure of it.

NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 41d

It's right there in the name! Engineers definitely install the engines!

Someone had to put that oil drain bolt directly over the cross-member so it spills oil every fucking place when you change it.

Turret3857@infosec.pub · 2 pts · 38d

THATS SO FUCKING TRUE!!!!

Business people are a risky bunch, Full on the Dunning Kruger effect, they think they know about stuf, they think they know better than the actual engineers, but they're so ignorant and idiotic that they can't see how they don't know shit, and it's so satisfying to see their shits coming back to hit them in their faces... except when is by a lot of people dying, like how this fuckers did with Boeing.

Maybe engineers should be the ones making the decisions and business people just as support/do the paperwork.
