I am 100% using this on my deathbed lmfao
EnsignWashout@startrek.website · 12 pts · 69d
Yes. These might become my last words.
Which is bad, since I'm sure I'll just keep repeating them every few hours, just in case.

I just got my 8 year old a cd player for his room and he loves it
lyralycan@sh.itjust.works · 9 pts · 69d
Awesome! When I was like 13 I liked an ad for a DVD player and started to ask my parents for one, then checked myself as I already had like four DVD/CD players in my room. An old laptop, a PS2, PS One and TV with a disc drive

It took a moment for the penny to drop, then "When can I use this?".
EnsignWashout@startrek.website · 5 pts · 69d
It's never too soon, really.
daggermoon@piefed.world · 6 pts · 68d
I still listen to music on CD's.
purplemonkeymad@programming.dev · 4 pts · 68d
I do too, but like much less than my ripped files.
auntieclokwise@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 68d
Sometimes the CDs are even cheaper than the digital download. And there's always thrift stores. Once you have the CD, rips are easy.

Would this be a bad time to talk about the first music album i owned being on cassette tape.....
FistingEnthusiast@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 68d
I used to love the insert in the cassette case with all the lyrics

I would have gotten here sooner, but I had to take time to write a scathing review for that asshole Ea-nāṣir selling me bad copper.

I so use my Quadraphonic 8-track player as my main speaker system.
I keep "Star Wars and other Galactic Funk" by MECO loaded in it, mostly because i don't think it would survive being removed at this point.
You haven't lived until you've heard disco mixes of the Star Wars soundtrack that were made as a serious project and not a parody.

I can go and buy Cassette and Vinyl records in Walmart, they know what CDs are
kamen@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 68d
I still buy CDs, but there's no sense playing them directly - I rip them and I listen to FLACs.
