Getting out of the group is a huge accomplishment for a World Cup debutant, and taking this Argentina side to extra time and coming out to play like you mean it is truly incredible. I've never seen anything like it, and lemme tell you I watch a lot of soccer.
Hahaha I'll be honest I'd never heard of it until this year, but that little nation made a big splash! Much like Curacao, what a freaking showing.
If you can get your hands on a full replay vs. Argentina, I highly recommend going back to watch - my experience was that it gave credence to "the beautiful game" slogan :)
I’ve been a CV fan since the group stage (went to the CPV KSA match) and that was such a fun game to watch. They poured their hearts out. You could tell Argentina was stunned

Waking up to a world cup day without Cabo Verde in it anymore.

Fingertip away from a shootout.

If you actually do watch a lot of it, it's kinda weird that you call it "soccer".

It is not, because I am from the United States

No football fan would call it soccer. But hey, you do you man.

I invite you to take even the briefest of glances at the communities that I moderate and consider whether you may have misjudged me here.

No soccer fan in the US calls it football. It is confusing here because football already exists, and is a great bit larger then soccer in popularity.

You're damn right. Football already exists.

Cape Verde? I didn't recognize the flag, and searching turned out to be harder than I expected :\

Cabo Verde in the world cup.
They were doing really but got knocked out by Argentina

It was honestly one of the best games I've ever watched. Argentina didn't win that game, they squeaked through it

I couldn't stay awake to watch it.
Went to Cabo Verde last year, on Sal and I fucking loved the place so decided to low key support them.
Then they drew with Spain and everyone jumped on that bandwagon jaja
