atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 64d

Which one is barefoot? I see cowboy boots. Which, having grown up in an area where things like this happen, is exactly what I was expecting to see.

Not like he'd be feeling it after the fall

iocase@lemmy.zip · 20 pts · 64d

YOU FELL DIRECTLY ON YOUR NECK ARE YOU OK!? LET ME HELP YOU STAND UP!

ChicoSuave@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 64d

It's unrealistic to think that much weight can be stopped suddenly as the person lays on the ground in the path of the tank.

When i was a kid, we went on something called a "hay ride." It's a common fall-time tradition at local festivals in the rural US American south. One of the local farmers grabs their tractor, hooks it to a big trailer, then loads up a bunch of hay bales for people to sit on while he rides around a big field. It's kind of like an open-air redneck party bus.

Well, one year, we were doing our annual hay ride at the fall festival and the tractor hit a hole. Now, if you don't know, the only suspension on a tractor is (usually) the tires, so bumps transfer a good bit of force.

One kid, about five years old, got thrown off the trailer, in a way very similar to that shown in this video. His arm went under the trailer tires and got run over. It was crushed so badly, he had to have his arm amputated.

If someone ever offers you to ride ON a vehicle in a field, just know that's the kimd of risk you're taking.

Similar thing happened to a guy I knew who was riding on top "holding" the top bails from falling off. Hit a bump, sent him flying. At least he only broke his arm.

Your god given right as a free American to ignore every health and safety regulation there is.

Hawk@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 5 pts · 64d

Is this why American health insurance is so expensive?

clucose@lemmy.ml · 4 pts · 64d (3 replies)

And may break your neck in the process.

Americans live like they have socialised medicine.

pdxfed@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 64d

We do; we socialized the cost of private, off-limits care.

SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social · 2 pts · 64d

Breakneck speed isn't as high as some people believe.

TachyonTele_Esq@piefed.social · 9 pts · 64d

6/10. Only one person fell

SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 64d

USA! USA!

nexguy@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 64d

He really needs an immediate neck massage after a fall like that. You gotta work the soreness out ASAP

Quit cheating Darwin.

Marthirial@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 64d

I was hoping this would go more wronger.
