Looks good, but poll: What book should one performatively read with a brooding scowl while wearing this?

  • The Egyptian Book of the Dead
  • The Book of Thoth
  • Anything by HP Lovecraft or Edgar Allan Poe
  • Dracula
  • Interview with the Vampire

Those would be my picks. They're worth reading in a non-performative way. But it can be performative too lol.

Those are more inline with the vibe. I was thinking a doubletake worthy curve-ball, like 50 Shades of Grey, or a textbook on butterfly taxonomy or something.

All The Pretty Horses. Gotta challenge people's preconceived notions

That's an amazing outfit. Hope the library has air conditioning. My question is how are you getting your hair to stay all on one side like that?

subunit317@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 46d (1 reply)

This was a trick I learned recently. If you have long enough hair, brush a little bit of mousse into it, then make a side pony tail and clip it in place. Let it dry for awhile or use a hairdryer, then remove the clip. Should stick like that until next time you wash it (as long as its not super windy outside).

I learned a similar trick recently for giving short hair body. Blow dry it back, so it stands up, then rub product into the roots, and allow it to set for 10 minutes before styling. May look a lot better if you use a straightening iron first. Makes your hair look all movie starry and whatnot.

Brother looks like he's about to challenge an Egyptian Pharaoh to a children's card game

Is it a goth library?

Looks good though

stoicmaverick@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 45d (1 reply)

Why? You know a good one?

DrSleepless@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 45d

I wish

Your version is better but it's giving Musk vibes

modus@lemmy.world · 18 pts · 46d

Damn, that's cold.

Hilarious, but cold.

Not sure if the title is a deliberate reference to The Magicians, but definitely strong Elliot Waugh vibes.

I fucking love those boots, overall excellent fit!

Sergio@piefed.social · 5 pts · 45d

ikr I usually don't like those boots but they go with that outfit really well.

Chais@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 46d

Where would it be more convenient? The kitchen?

NathanDerWeise@feddit.org · 6 pts · 46d

The fit is for "stealing hearts" as well as stealing hearts.

AnnaFrankfurter@lemmy.ml · 6 pts · 46d (1 reply)

Now answer the real question do you always do all those buckles and laces when you wear this outfit or leave them strapped and just wiggle out of the clothes???

GrantUsEyes@piefed.zip · 6 pts · 45d

The boots probably have a zipper in the back or hidden somewhere, buckles and laces on the pants can be just decorative.

Gorgeous. Giving modern vampire. 🥵

jaybone@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 46d (1 reply)

How do you know how many buttons to button on a coat like that?

Jilanico@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 46d

If you got the confidence to rock that fit, you can button as many as you damn well please 😎

AnnaFrankfurter@lemmy.ml · 3 pts · 46d

No summoning deamons in bathrooms but is it ok if we do it inside the library or checkout books and do it at home???
