I think it really does boil down to capitalism. Nostalgia sells really fucking well, and there are big wigs in suits that realized comic books were basically a gold mine in movie scripts and merch.
But also there's a factor in that the production value, expected costs and revenue rose dramatically for all this stuff. Movies cost so much to make now because they want to maximize profit.
And they realized that betting on some author's weird new story was risky, even if it was a good story. But X-Men? Everyone has heard of them. It's way less risky to invest in brands that already exist and are popular.
I think it's more that investors/producers are risk averse, and they want something guaranteed to be known and seen before they throw millions at it.
It's not just nerds make and spend money, but nerds are very loyal to their brands, and these fucks only know how to sell brands.
Nah, looks like this thing has too many body holes, and the belly button wouldn't be there.
By abductee reports those things can be smooth as barbie dolls, more like remote control biological androids/cyborgs.
Well, except they split them between the tall and short kind. These appear way too tall to fit the small android version. They don't say as much about the tall greys.
Likely all anyone puts in the calendar is "Simon's basketball game" so it will at best reference basketball and Simon playing it and have some fake podcaster say, "And don't forget about that basketball game at 8pm!", and at worst invent/hallucinate tons of details it could never know.
One thing that worries me is even the c level executives offer the worst ideas when it comes to AI and their own AI products. Like, AI can manage to do a lot of useful stuff, but also a lot of terrible use cases... This being one. It takes 1 minute to glance at your week's schedule. An AI podcast invites the worst kind of hallucinations. Whenever you give it a tiny bit of information and expect more back than you gave it like upscaling, you invite the worst hallucinations and inaccuracies.
The fact that they're still struggling to make it sound relevant means they don't even believe in it as much as they're trying to sell it. Bubble is bound to pop soon with this sort of weird behavior... Seems like a year ago they were talking about the machine god being here by now, and now they're like "hey did you know this thing can make a fake podcast?" Yeah I fucking knew that, it was a stupid use case 2 years ago and it's a stupid use case now.

Lol natural gas? What, do you like, hate America? We need diesel trucks transporting coal to burn on site
Holy fuck I love this comic for all the wrong reasons, it's like satire of itself
Won't be that dry as Chlamydia makes a massive cumback

Third eye, probably trying to draw telepathy
I love how everyone thinks they hate modernism too when they see something like this, but it started out as mid century modern
Garbage in garbage out
