People really need to get back into blogging.

There are still many great blogs out there. Support those. And let others work with the medium they enjoy and that fits their skills.

Most people like to watch, or listen, rather than read. Especially NDs like myself, I can go through these videos while cooking, exercising, commuting etc.

There are lots… lots… of options for text to speech apps that can read you an article while you cook, exercise, commute etc.

Something made to be read isn't going to be as good listened too, especially by something automated. Anyway, there are billions of us and I'm sure there are enough creators to make articles for you to read and videos for OP to listen to while doing whatever. It's not a zero sum game.

right, but it takes hours of compute to make a transcript from video footage and results are much much worse than text to speech
punkisundead@slrpnk.net · 3 pts · 59d
Why would any compute needed for that? The script of the video essay already exists, the video essayist can just upload it in a decent formatting. Many already do that

where is this script please

Im gonna guess the video-creator has it, rather than some random lemming

I agree, although for many people both creating and also consuming video and audio content is often more comfortable. Which is why a lot of people produce videos or podcasts.

Literacy is good though and requires practice. You can read much faster than people can talk and you'll remember more too.
