Funding for government institutions overseeing labour is constantly cut. Same excuse as DOGE. Cutting waste while also giving mega corporations tax breaks and not fining them when they are very evidently breaking the law.
Once the kids are all grown up and out of the house my wife and I will buy something very affordable and small with a reasonablly sized garden in wherever there is barely enough infrastructure and internet and then hopefully can reduce the money making time to less than the self managed time.
But in this economy I will expect the kids to need us and this flat we pay for until they are 30.....
