Supernatural had a character confess to one of the 2 main brothers, only for him to totally ignore that it happened and have the character who confessed immediately dragged to hell. It was such a slap in the face to everyone who was hoping for the gay romance to be treated seriously that it thus became a meme.
Also it aired at the same time as the 2020 US presidential election, so the meme wires got crossed and people were using it to announce electoral results too, transforming it into a news announcement meme generally
