But Your car needs to be at least 20 years old for this to happen. Used to happen a lot when I was driving a 1989 VW Golf.

I can second this. I once got 2nd and 4th gear back in my 1993 Saturn LS1 after getting some air time off a decent bump on a country road.

Coincidentally, that same bump is how I lost 2nd and 4th. Life can be tricksy mistress.

I had something similar! I got some sick airtime while off-roading with my cousins in my 1995 4Runner, and when my back wheels caught a hidden hill, I bent my axles! But I was able to easily fix them by hitting my wallet with a $1,500 bill, and then crying a lot.

About a month ago I was having some bad kidney stone pain and had to drive 2.5 hours home. I threw up twice in the first couple miles it hurt so bad. Then I hit a pot hole and the pain went away. Check mate, doctors.

Save that somewhere else for later. In the ol' kidney pocket.

I'm going to need the location of this magic pothole.

my 2002 ford truck had a similar issue, because there was a weak solder spot on the main board in the instrument panel

the windows and radio would go out randomly and a bump in the road would usually bring it back. Getting that fixed was easy enough when I had the truck in the shop for a other projects. They had to send it to a specialist but its been perfect since... but the passenger side airbag is electrically fed by a small incandescent light and the bulb has burned out so the stupid thing throws an error. You have to take the dashboard apart to get to the stupid light so I just ignore it

I used to drive a Daihatsu Mira that lost power steering, ABS and the speedometer whenever it went above 70mph

Oh, the dashboard melted, but we still have the radio.

Used to have a truck, 20 years ago. When you would hit a pothole, sometimes the engine would die. Fortunately, you could get it to start again by hitting a curb or another pothole.

It's a hole in the ground; your Jesus God has no power here.
