Yeah, all those extraordinary alien encounter and government-created (or -hushed up) cryptid believers of the 90s and before were FUN KOOKS, not dangerous bigots with the ear of some of the most powerful people in the world!
we got to the point where conspiracy theories aren't fun because when we thought they were fun we engaged with them, which led to a subset of people taking them seriously, which led to those people being manipulated by their fear of conspiracy theories being true into voting for someone they were told would expose the perpetrators. the lesson is, conspiracy theories are never fun, they're inherently dangerous in that they encourage disengagement from reality and distrust in the concepts of knowledge and society. stop saying "birds aren't real"
smart enough to understand context and nuance, and not to equate Epstein with aliens and Bigfoot, which apparently not all of us are. if there is credible evidence for something, it is no longer a conspiracy theory, and thus clearly not what I'm fucking talking about

I'm old enough to remember when conspiracy theories were actually fun.

So because wild conspiracies exist therefore no conspiracy existed? Not smart enough to not make a point against yourself.
