I was confused in the first round with the spy, cause Sam just says the spy wants people to "vote with them on the wrong answer" and then pointed to the gloves. I assumed this meant Brian was supposed to try to get everyone to guess the gloves, which would be wrong, but if he doesn't think he's able to convince people he can still try to get points by guessing the actual right thing, which he still doesn't know
these are important distinctions that are often glossed over and obscured: capitalist vs supporter of capitalism; Republican vs Republican-aligned voter. terms that make one seem like part of the in-group when they're not; terms that are nouns rather than verbs, that make an idea seem like an identity, so that changing your mind seems like uprooting your whole personality
the last automatic car wash I went through removed my grill emblem and left big streaks of tiny black spots all over the white paint on the hood, roof, and trunk. and they wouldn't even refund me the $6. my insurance refused to do anything about it
there's Cell (2016) starring Nic Cage and Samuel L Jackson, based on a Stephen King book, where people turn into zombies after hearing a signal secretly embedded into cell phone networks
the other reply didn't exist yet when I started writing mine. sorry that I took longer because I tried to provide more detail about the thing you seemed interested in
there's actually new research saying prototaxites may not have been fungi, but belonged to an entirely separate kingdom that's now extinct. one of the defining characteristics of fungi are that their cell walls contain chitin, the same stuff that makes arthropod shells. prototaxites was found not to contain any chitin, while other ancient fungi of the same age as prototaxites already did, so it's not a feature of fungi that was adapted later. prototaxites was also found to contain microscopic structures that don't exist in any known fungus species
edit: damn, someone beat me to it while I was trying to find the details
this is Lombard Street in San Francisco
you think anyone's ever broken the 25mph speed limit on that section of street?

if we don't act quick, they'll beat us to antigravity and scrying mirrors too
at 4:31am, you could tell me I'd won a million dollars and I'd probably look like this
they're gonna have to hide his grave to keep people from forming a queue to piss on it
it's literally the lyrics of tubthumping
I'd probably start by asking why he's kneeling straddling my chest like a sleep paralysis demon
"pray I do not alter it further"
I was just thinking yesterday, why isn't there a "never store credit card info" option
so they didn't show up to class for 11 weeks?
"this is our top priority"
"so what exactly are you going to do about it?"
"we don't know"
you raise a good point; perhaps we should name it after him, call it Trump's Bowel, to reflect the amount of control he has over it
I don't know a specific word, but I always think of it as "closing the umbrella because you're not getting wet"
wanna hear a joke? what does je ne sais quoi mean?
"I don't know, what?"
thanks.
