Open in apps

Is there a way to set it up so it always stays in Firefox for certain links? I prefer to watch YouTube in Firefox and having to see the popup everytime is kind of annoying.

In YouTube app setting, you can change Open By Default settings from Open in app to Open in browser.

This works, but... from a UI perspective, every time there is an "Always..." option, I really want there to also be a "Never..." option.

Never use the app to open YT links.

Similarly...

Never trust this computer.

I was just thinking yesterday, why isn't there a "never store credit card info" option

Tasker, Klick'r, or similar probably could help by at least automating the response.

But yeah, Google has been gradually forcing these dark programming patterns down Android users' collective throats since the early days.

Apple is the same (iPhone specifically has "Always trust this computer" but not "Never")

I suspect that particular one is less a dark pattern and more the fact that you might one day want to connect to the computer for something other than charging and then a lot of users would complain about not being able to find the correct place to un-never it.

Like this...

Change it to open in browser. I think this should work.

I don't seem to have that option but just disabling it seems to work. Thanks!

Go to Firefox settings and change open links in app to never

This will block all apps from opening. Not what I want.

Fair enough

Now that I think about it.. mine doesn't prompt me for yt because I disabled the yt app. It has the open in app option greyed out for yt
