Here's two scenarios: One, the fascists are completely defeated and lose all power. That's actually the situation where Trump will definitely get monuments. Just like the losers of the Civil War made a point to build a bunch of monuments celebrating what huge losers they were, similar losers will do the same for Trump.
A second scenario is that the fascists win. A dictator takes over and we lose all of our freedoms. If this happens, it won't be Trump, or at least it won't be Trump for long because he's so fucking old. He likely wouldn't be able to put one of his loser sons in charge, since they simply don't have whatever it is that Trump has. Even if they tried, I suspect some other Republican would easily seize power from him.
So that first real dictator Republican will want to glorify himself. He'll want to pretend like he seized power legally. As a result, it's quite likely that he'll blame everything on Trump. He'll point at Trump's insurrection in 2021 as proof that Trump was a bad guy. And everything that he says about Trump will be the sincere truth, because Trump really is one of the biggest villains in American history.
So anyways, my prediction is that if Trump "wins" and starts true fascism in America, just like he said, nobody will build monuments for him. Trump will be an easy scapegoat because all you have to do is say exactly what he actually did.

They're going to guarantee Gavin just like they always do: run a bunch of other candidates who are going to pretend to want the job, only to throw it and all endorse the Next One Up at the last possible moment before Super Tuesday. (I call that "pulling a Klobuchar").

Harris, Newsom, Shapiro are out for me, they're pro-Israel. Ossof has accepted contributions from Israel. Pritzker was an AIPAC board member.

Go ahead and make your list by whatever metric you want. Use the Primary as your platform. But don't be one of those people who disengages if someone who doesn't meet your standards gets nominated.
If those other folks are too pro-Israel for you in the Primary, that's fine. But if it goes to the General, and it's Newsom or Shapiro or Ossoff vs. Some MAGA loser, don't use it as an excuse to sit out. Because if a bunch of people who found excuses to not vote for Harris has shown up instead in the right zip codes, and Harris was President right now, everyone would be much better off, including the folks in Gaza.
Sometimes, there are just no good choices, but not choosing is worse.

Here's two scenarios: One, the fascists are completely defeated and lose all power. That's actually the situation where Trump will definitely get monuments. Just like the losers of the Civil War made a point to build a bunch of monuments celebrating what huge losers they were, similar losers will do the same for Trump.
A second scenario is that the fascists win. A dictator takes over and we lose all of our freedoms. If this happens, it won't be Trump, or at least it won't be Trump for long because he's so fucking old. He likely wouldn't be able to put one of his loser sons in charge, since they simply don't have whatever it is that Trump has. Even if they tried, I suspect some other Republican would easily seize power from him.
So that first real dictator Republican will want to glorify himself. He'll want to pretend like he seized power legally. As a result, it's quite likely that he'll blame everything on Trump. He'll point at Trump's insurrection in 2021 as proof that Trump was a bad guy. And everything that he says about Trump will be the sincere truth, because Trump really is one of the biggest villains in American history.
So anyways, my prediction is that if Trump "wins" and starts true fascism in America, just like he said, nobody will build monuments for him. Trump will be an easy scapegoat because all you have to do is say exactly what he actually did.

I see no route where regardless of party who gets in in 2028 is going to keep any of the names either, like "Lake America" and "Gulf of America", it's such an insult to the rest of the world anyone running would decide against it and without any real opposition against tearing down the existing monuments made, I don't see any real blockers.
I do think that they are likely right that the ballroom or whatever it ends up actually being will stay, but everything else? I firmly expect won't be.

The statue's features "tell" that the sculptor read those "passions" (the cold sneer, etc.) in the monarch's face, his general mood and way of treating the world. And in doing, those passions survive and appear in this statue.

It means a lot if you receive it from an organization representing your profession. It means nothing if you just have a plaque made and put it in your wall.

He'll get one, crudely built by a local, off of the side of the road in my county I'm sure. It will sit where the litter from passing trucks collects. That is absolutely not true. I'll personally be campaigning to see that he is entombed under Centralia, Pennsylvania... and then renaming the town to trumpsville. He always did like his name on things. It would only seem fitting to charge people to visit it... just like he would want.
Its the perfect monument. Poetic even. It only seems right to cast a demon into proverbial hell -in- earth... in a place where "corruption" destroyed society. Most yuuuuge monument ever. And honestly? Its win win. I figure eventually the fire will be put out from all the people coming to piss on his grave. The proceeds can benifit the homeless and starving... I call it "trickle" down economics. After all: aren't we due some winning?
Shit it'd probably be the closest he ever came to telling the truth.
