You forgot to make the mona lisa crash in the last one, and need a 120gb day one patch to be "playable" (it's not playable, it just doesn't crash now), and also require a constant internet connection despite being single player. And needing to install some weird launcher that never works even though you bought the game on steam
No, no. The now now would be a barebones game with half features cut and bugs galore, a roadmap of dlc's announced (with a couple or 10 season pass programmed) that will be scrapped a month after the launch because the game is not profitable enough.
I get much more enjoyment from some random indie developers project than a soulless $100 “AAA” game that was made by developers slaving away at a game idea that has been dictated by a rich CEO that needs an extra Ferrari
I sometimes think about how things are so bad in part because there are so many people making unnecessary bad decisions. Like, just don't buy the horse armor. Do something else.
But there are so many idiots that bad things remain profitable
I have a recurring fantasy of a honey pot for this sort of thing. You advertise like an exclusive doodad that no reasonable person would buy. Maybe extra-large cars. Maybe horse armor. Could be anything. Everyone who goes to buy one goes straight to therapy, and they don't leave until they're no longer a fucking moron. Kind of like The Good Place.
It's interesting that valve never got any shit for it, it was all directed at Bethesda, but to me it seemed like Valve's idea.
2015: Valve and Bethesda jointly introduced paid Skyrim mods through the Steam Workshop. Valve built and operated the marketplace system; Bethesda approved and participated in its implementation. The scheme was withdrawn after only a few days of massive community protest
And yet everyone buys new game although they knew they must sold their kidneys just to enjoy full game. Just look at The Sims series, that game has shit ton of expansion packs since old days and yet everyone just keep buying it.
The now image needs 8 fingers to denote it's now AI created and the expansion pack needs to be a notice that says "this game has been removed from your library by sony entertainment of America due to infinite profit generation incompatibility"

This is a very old meme. The now in it was 2015, and the now now would be a rough sketch with a promise to finish it later.

I still play more Starbound and Project Zomboid than any AAA game could ever even wish to achieve from my time.

And it all died with fucking horse armor that didn't even provide armor.

Because it wasn't in 2015 with Skyrim. It was oblivion that had the first horse armor.

I photoshopped this some years ago for an image challenge about modernizing old games.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This had made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.
