During COVID, several movies including “Soul,” “Luca” and “Turning Red” were sent directly to Disney+ and executives felt that inadvertently trained audiences to watch Pixar’s films at home.

Inadvertently my ass, executives wanted to pump the D+ numbers and now they cry they can't double dip on tickets and subscriptions. At the same time they want to churn out 3 pixar movies and 2 spinoff shows every year while "maintaining the prestige" and cutting staff.

I'm afraid I will never understand the executive brain dysfunction.

Lol that “inadvertently” caught my attention too since Disney was so loud about pushing people to D+

They ran the clock out on anyone noticing that they bought their only real competitors.

Marvel and Fox next, I expect.

Let’s layoff the workers from our more profitable division. 🙄

So instead of creative and rebellious content they focus on real life recycled contents.

Given the fast-moving pace of our industries, this requires us to constantly assess how to foster a more agile and technologically-enabled workforce to meet tomorrow’s needs.

Read as: we want to pump out more shit with changing stories and deadlines through-out the process, and we want AI to do a lot of it.

What a pity. Pixar used to be great. I used to ook forward to all their movies, but since the Disney takeover they've just become another generic animation studio. The last move of theirs I saw was Elio and that shit was borderline unwatchable.

Can't remember the last time I gave a shit about a pixar movie. Possibly Up?
