this is not gonna end well for the company or its games.. so the only thing i can think of is it's simply a big a smoke screen for some financial shenanigans.
Saudi Arabia makes sense. They know fossil fuels will eventually make their way out, so they created a sovereign wealth fund to buy a bunch of profitable companies so they can keep funding their lavish lifestyle in the middle of a desert. It's a bit skeevy that they're setting themselves up as leeches subsisting on the work of subsumed companies (basically taking landlordism to a new level), but it's arguably better than sticking with oil, and at least they have a motive to not interfere too badly and wreck their revenue stream.
The main problem is that Mohammed bin Salman (Mr. Bonesaw himself) is the fund's chairman and directly profiting off of everything they do, plus every sale of an EA game now directly funds Saudi Arabia's repressive and regressive government.
Kushner, on the other hand, just wants money and is using the connections he got during Trump's first term (where he made billions by abusing his position) to muscle in on a share of the pie. He's corrupt scum with no redeeming qualities.

Saudi Arabia and Jared Kushner, to be precise. One of the most hated game companies is being bought out by people who are even worse.

EA has been dead to me for a long time.
I won't miss them.

Cities Skylines and Paralives

A big sims head I know adores House Flipper 1 and 2.
InZoi scratches that Sims itch. Paralives is promising but quite new.
Stardew Valley for relationship building and farming.
Rim World is great for colony building in space.

I should backup my steam copy of simcity 4 and sims 3 before a shady update drops out.
