How about turning it into a macro that I can set?
Microsoft: if it can't be Copilot, you get nothing.

That's nonsense. To do what it does, it sends a signal to the operating system. It's entirely within the operating system's power to do something different when it gets that signal

I went searching for the article I read after posting my comment. Either I misread a headline, or misremembered details. Regardless, I was plain wrong and deleted my comment

You probably saw something which said the key can't be remapped, which is likely to be true but only because windows won't let you, rather than being any kind of technical problem

Supposedly the key sends weird signals that make it harder to use like any other key. Where a normal key would send KeyDown when pressed and KeyUp when released it sends a bunch of KeyDown and KeyUp when pressed and nothing when it's released.

I want my context menu key back. Without having to press
fn. Sure, usually you can right click, but there are enough times where the key is a better option, and you don’t have to take your hands off the keyboard to use it.toynbee@piefed.social · 4 pts · 35d
Shift+F10 can probably be mapped to whatever you want (except, apparently, the key referenced in this post).

They created a keyboard bug. That is some high level dumbfuckery.

Also a good time to bring up our lord and savior, Linux.

Can’t we just make the button bring up the calculate app?

I had to install whatever powertools/toys to remap it to do nothing. It was on the day I got that new company laptop.
I was just hitting it by mistake, and as I'm in EU, I did uninstall all the copilot crap anyway.
On my plus side, I got my calculator key mapped to the shrug emoji ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Your text face is missing an arm but mine are messed up too.

Yes, I assume I should escape the backslash in Lemmy. Let's dry doubling it. ¯\(ツ)/¯
Holy f it's even worse, kill it with fire or something

Could be the perfect opportunity to officially add compose support to Windows
